What if you stayed on subject and talked about a school making an issue out of cheerleaders support for our duly elected president and then cancelling a game for fear of violence as a result.

When I was in high school, I attended many anti-Viet Nam War protests, but not on my school's premises. They had rules against that, just as this school had similar rules.

I had very few who told me they'd be out of class ahead of time, but there were certain events we were informed of that students would be leaving to attend.

Read again, or find a more complete report than the OP's Fox News article. The banner was displayed on campus at a school-sponsored pre-game pep rally. Sorry, but you have it wrong.

Yet these same schools turned a blind eye to students supporting teacher strikes and walking out of class and walking out of class for gun protest and global war protest.
The aforementioned double standards of the left on display.

It's not a matter of schools choosing to let students out. Schools don't have that authority as long as parents are aware their child will be leaving.

Again, you're creating a false narrative. The school did not make an issue of support for Trump. This was an issue of public safety first and foremost.

I think the school was afraid of fights breaking out in the stands between the parents of the cheerleaders and school board officials.

Pathetic that the media focuses on the negative? That isn't new. What I find pathetic is Trump himself. How many billowing clouds of smoke do you need to see befor admitting there might be a fire? Does it never occur to you that he may be guilty of most of what the media tells us?

He's corrupt, always has been. He hasn't been honest since childhood, and even that is questionable, IMO. He's a blatant racist and always has been, something he makes clear at every possible moment, but his supporters don't seem to be listening.

I lived in NYC from 1993 to 2002. Trump was a known cheater and liar, a joke in fact. It's his own self-created history. Did the rest of the country think he had changed, or would change if we made him our president? Or did you all just not know what sort of man you were admiring? He is amoral, regardless of how many times he tells you he's a Christian. The only thing Donald Trump worships is money, and the only thing he believes in is himself and his enormous, fragile ego.

I believe that's true. The public was invited to a flag-waving ceremony the day before the game. However, the cheerleaders' banner made it too politically controversial, so the school and law decided to cancel the game. Then the state association for cheerleaders stepped in put the girls on "probation," which is essentially a warning to not bring politics onto school grounds.

Unfurling a Trump banner was an issue of public safety? LMAO

Yes it was a matter of the schools allowing and sanctioning it.

You are nearly incoherent in that first line. Am I mistaken, or did you just call me stupid?

And FYI, probation in high school is not exactly a draconian or traumatic event. Most high school kids wear it like a badge of honor.
I may have been mistaken, but I'm not wrong. That wasn't even much of a slap on the wrist and doesn't go into their permanent school record.

Schools have no choice in allowing anything that happens off campus.

They were EXCUSED from school to specifically attend. Have you ever had kids in school? You cannot just tell your kid don't go to school today.

It's a school sanctioned event and anything that might threaten safety makes the school legally liable. And yes, Trump is a divisive person who many people don't like, and if people started yelling at each other over a banner, it could end up being a brawl.

In today's politically polarized world that is a distinct possibility.

You most certainly can. They're your kids. If the kids are out for a certain number of days, the district can take action, But if you say it's ok for them to go to church or an NRA rally, the school has no say in it.

A brawl started by Trump haters so as I've said repeatedly the left has effectively shut down dissenting opinion with the overhanging threat of violence. You just agreed with me.:)

Are you willing to give up your right to speech because someone might be offended?

I am asking you to stand behind your own convictions.
