America can no longer be trusted

Britain is no longer friends with France after France leaving them alone to Fight Germany, Speaking of Germany, why are they are friends after we fought a war.

The US has Canada, Australia and Great Britain as allies. The rest of our "allies" around the world aligns themselves with us for thier own benefit.

We never should have been there and we should get the hell out of the middle east period.
If Syria and Turkey would have told the Kurds they could have land for thier own country they would have stopped fighting Isis in a NY miniute. Once ISIS was defeated, why would the Kurds have any reason to think we would stay there.

Now Trump was a idiot for the way he did it. He should have told the kurds months ago so that they would have been prepared. The US should have took control of the ISIS prisoners also prior to the notification.

 

At least TRY and be honest. Acknowledge that we did indeed abandon the Kurds, but you just simply dont care.

 

I support the concept of the U.S. not defending any country other than the U.S. I support leaving NATO and the UN. America first.

We did, but as explained I think it was the right thing to do. The two sides have been fighting for decades. Hopefully with them being beyond the 20 mile safe zone and away from the Turkish border, much of their fighting will be over, as much as it can be in the Middle East. The millions of Syrians that fled into Turkey can now come back home. I'm sure quite a few got killed, but how many have been killed in the decades they have been fighting with no solution in sight? If both sides keep their agreement, things should be much better. The fighting only went on for a few days before the VP got the two sides to agree.

 

They need to pay their fair share or we shouldn't support them.

 

What purpose could such a nonspecific comment as 'that's naive' possibly serve, without an accompanying specificity as to which part/s and an explanation as to why? This is a debate forum, after all.

Maybe Europe can start providing their own defenses, that way they cant keep subsidizing socialist principles off our backs and telling us how much better they are for doing so. Might also stop indoctrinating the left here at home.

Abandoning our allies?

How many bases to we have around the world defending our allies?

How many of our allies have bases in North America, hell, the western hemisphere helping to protect us?

Our allies got comfortable with this arrangement 80 years ago... and yet is saying "come on, help" is us abandoning them?

You look at the world through a much different lense than I do.

 

Anyone who thinks we owe Europe a damn thing. Doesn't know anything about history.

 

Trump has betrayed allies, broken international accords, and threatened long standing alliances by virtue of his impulsiveness, ignorance, and refusal to accept the advice of people who know better than him. The US can no longer be trusted any more than Trumpette's can be expected to engage in fact based, nuanced discussion that acknowledges reality. What else is new?

The whole structure of our bases cannot quickly eliminated. But what trump says gives concern to allies about hat he would do if push came to shove.

If you want to have alliances... you do not ask if they are going to station troops in Italy
Your attitude is exactly why our allies feel less confident in our relationship
And.... it seems that you, like trump, see mostly cost and no value in having allies

If we talk like there is no value in our alliances
Why would anyone feel confidence in those alliances?
