    White House lawyers told the president in late August about the complaint, which blew the whistle on Trump’s July 25 phone call with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy.

    The lawyers explained to Trump that they were trying to determine whether they were legally required to hand the complaint over to Congress

    This is not really shocking news, as there is little doubt the DOJ would have briefed Trump as soon as possible on the WB complaint.

    However, I always assumed the cover up began after the WH got the letter from Schiff on September 9th, leading directly to his self serving bullshit cover story that Sondland texted to Bill Taylor...

    What this tells me is that ANY and all Trump statements and actions from 9/1 now need to be run through the cover up filter... It also makes one wonder if Pence knew about this on his trip to Poland....

    But it's also clear that Trump wasn't worried about the aid until he got the letter from Schiff, proving Congress had most of the WB story anyway... the WB complaint by itself wasn't enough to get the aid released.

    Yawn that wasn't the only thing that happened in that time period. Research what the Ukraine parliament passed, research what the bipartisan senate meetings with Ukraine reported to Trump. Half the story is well a half backed theory that deserves no recognition.

    I assume "bipartisan Senate meetings with Ukraine" is the Johnson/Murphy trip on 9/5??

    Explain how you think that meeting changes anything here?? Or not... I know asking for specifics is a dangerous place for you guys..

    Have you heard testimony from Mulvaney, Bolton, Perry, Giuliani, or any of the politically appointed OMB officials? Have any of the State Departments or OMB officials turned over any documents?

    Yea, they also reported that Trump was being told by his attorneys about their review of whether Congress needed to be notified.

    Congress was notified about the whistleblower complaint later, two days before he released the aid.
