I think you can’t grasp the point I’m making. With my insurance I can see a doctor that treats foreign heads of state. I wouldn’t pay extra for it.
Can you easily be seen in Germany by a specialist that treats super reach people from other countries? I can. Can a German pull it off without paying extra?
Again, example with my wife - can you be treated with true brand new state of the art equipment? Countries that have universal healthcare generally wait 7-10 years to obtain state of the art equipment due to the cost. So, in all reality, if you have a complex medical condition, you are much better off in the US than any other country in the this whole world. Obviously, you need insurance, but that’s not the point. The quality of healthcare in the United States is probably the best in the world.

@Sobo keeps telling me I’m a Slav. I was born in Ukraine, immigrated to the US around 18. I finished high school and advanced education (Masters Degree) in the US.
Presently I have a 6 figure salary. I earn more than 6 times of what @Sobo earns. More than double of German GDP per capita. I own a house, make payments for 2 cars, have a family of 4 and my wife doesn’t work, which is our choice.
So, how can @Sobo or you claim that Germany has a better quality of life when he relies of his dad to provide him his place to live while I am, as an immigrant, can afford all these things listed above? Nobody pays my bills, nobody gives me anything.
Does that mean the education in the US is inferiors of that of Germany? I don’t think so.
The United States is waaaaaaay above Germany by any measure.

 

In Germany you have the constitutional guarantee to have equal infrastructure, healthcare and social services no matter where you live.

Health care is better here, simply because we have a functional social system. Something you lack.
In your country heqlthcare depends on your income.

I paid my car in cash. I do travel to places you could only dream about. You live in a plywood castle. My debt is zero. I have a monthly income of 2800 € and no debt to be paid off.

Beside that, you dont need a general doctors letter to go to a specialist anymore in Germany. That ended like 10 years ago.

Germany is way above USA in living standards. We also have dramatical less crime. There is a reason why Germany is considered best country in the world according BBC. USA doesnt even make it in top 10.

P.s. 30 days paid vacation plus 5 day week plus over 11 paid national holidays.

Days off depend on work experience. At one of my prior jobs I had 30 days off. Those are work days. I hope you have enough brain power to understand that it’s more than the month off you were bragging about.
At my current job I get so much respect for my skills, I took a few weeks off and not a single day was counted towards my paid time off.

There is no problem seeing any specialist of your choice and the insurance will cover you all over Europe.

I have no idea were you get the 7-10 from. The hospitals are as well equipped as in the US, with state of the art equipment.
Germany does not have universal, it has the Bismarck system. It is worth looking into that and compare it to universal.

I do not have a college education, I am "just" a trade Master ( German ). I accomplished the American Dream, too. My business owns its own building and land and machines, payed off and my farm payed of. I do not have a loan or mortgage or credit card debt. But both of us are rather privileged, even that we earned it, because of the hard work it took. I learned in my live, that all of that is rather fragile.
In the US we can get the best of the best, but only, because we are privileged, the not so privileged, tough break.

I say both countries have their advantages and qualities and lag of qualities and disadvantages.

 

Mainly because after WW2.....Germany wasn't really allowed much of a military.....and basically poured everything$$$ wise in healthcare, infrastructure.

USA ranked 15th.....but Germany needs NATO umbrella.

 

Which is naturally wrong. West Germany had the largest Army stationed in Europe, 480,000 soldiers and around 1000 tanks and a large air force. Even the US NATO generals considered it the best ground force stationed in Europe.
When the Iron Curtain came down, West Germany spend its money, 2 trillion Euro, to rebuilt East Germany.
Despite all of that, it kept the high standard of its social systems, which are over 100 years old and even increased them and improved them. And incorporated over 18 million East Germans into those systems on day 1 of unification.

 

All of Europe and the USA need the NATO umbrella.
Let me remind you, it is the almighty US which invoked article 5 of NATO, asking its partners for help.
Naturally Germany did not deny that help and send its soldiers to help the US.

 

We are not privileged in any way. In the US you can achieve anything you want if you are willing to work. That’s the beauty of this country - you are compensated fairly for your efforts.
I will never agree with anyone saying anything bad about this country because here you can start from scratch without any help from parents or relatives and you will end up having a comfortable life if you are making an honest effort. I bet you know what I’m talking about first hand.

It doesn’t matter what it’s made of. It has walls and a roof. I actually happen to like insulation in American homes more than what I’ve seen in Europe. Each exterior wall has at least 4 layers and pretty think layer of insulation itself. Also, I’ve seen plenty of older brick houses in Europe whose walls started to crack due to house settling into the ground. A wood house wouldn’t crack like that because it’s more flexible.
Besides, you don’t even own a house.
