The U.S. has nothing to do with the leadership in Iran and hasn't for more than 40 years.

The U.S. has been pulling out of Syria.

And how many troops does the U.S. even have in Yemen?

Simply having a handful of soldiers in a nation is not an "occupation". "Occupation" has to include "control".

And note that "rahl" has said he wants to include U.S. bases in United Kingdom, Germany and Japan as "occupations" which is stupid beyond belief..

Again, did you skip 6th grade civics? Do you not know where a bill originates?
Republican Presidents with Democrat controlled house see skyrocketing deficits.
Democrat Presidents with Republican controlled house see decreasing deficits.

    My mistake - meant Iraq.

Yes but we are still occupying it - illegally.

Not sure but it doesn't matter - we are allied with the Occupier in a civil war .. helping to conduct blockaids - under investigation for complicity in war crimes and crimes against humanity.

Right - so if you are occupying land - in a foreign nation - uninvited - such as in Syria - it is an occupation. Sure that is winding down but so what ... you asked for occupation and that is still an on going one.

I agree that foreign bases in friendly nations does not meet the occupation bar.

    True.

The average cost per year to keep a prisoner in an American Super-Max prison is about $100,000 per year. The cost of keeping a prisoner at Gitmo? $1.2 million.

Obama wanted to close it. The Republicans said no. They like spending tax dollars.

And, of course, this is the only country in the world, and among all developed nations, where the healthcare system requires Doctors, drugs and facilities.

Government and its workers are a net loss.

In order for government to operate, they have to pull money out of the private sector in order to fund their operations. Add natural government inefficiencies and the money would have resulted as a net gain if left in the private sector.

Doctors, in particular, do not get paid as much as in the US. That is why we have so many foreign doctors. They get their education for less and they get paid less. The pharmaceutical companies spend a lot of money of research and development. That is included in the cost of drugs in the US. However, in order to compete in foreign companies, they tend to not include those costs. In other words, we are subsidizing many foreign countries, especially Canada. Then on top of that there is the malpractice insurance. It all adds up.

A standing army for more than 2 years is unconstitutional. Sorry.

Out military would still be the most powerful on earth if we cut the budget in half. We are illegally occupying over 150 countries currently. All those bases need closed and all those troops need recalled to the US.

That isn't what the constitution actually says. It says that the funding for a standing army cannot be made for more than two years. It says nothing about allocating funding for a standing army every year repeatedly.

Oh.... I see. So we need people to die, or go bankrupt so we can afford foreign doctors. Brilliant!

So you did skip it. No wonder you are so confused.

No they don’t, as evidenced by the actual data.

You are now simply trolling. You're own link to article shows your claims to be utterly false.

If we have a declaration of war, certainly. We have not had a declaration of war in decades. A standing army is unconstitutional.
