No it should be cut my 1/2 immediately.

If we cut the budget in half we would still be the most powerful military on earth, and fully prepared to defend against any attack. Anything more is unconstitutional.

 

No problem. As soon as they are in power I’ll do that. But they are not in power. Republicans are.

 

We would be the most powerful military only due to our nuclear weapons. And realistically, we can't use our nuclear weapons.

A U.S. military with funding cut by half would reduce our Navy to a third of what it is now, leave us with a tiny Army and virtually no Marine Corps (which would be against the law by the way as the size of the Marine Corps is mandated by federal law). And an Air Force just a shadow of its current self (which is tiny compared to what it used to be).

 

We would be the most powerful military because of nukes, and our other technology. The nukes serve as a deterrent.

Medical care has a number of fixed costs. Doctors, drugs, facilities. In spite of the rhetoric, there is not much that can be done about any of them. Doctors expect to be paid well because of all the costs of becoming a doctor. Drugs companies require compensation for research, etc. Facilities are what they are. Provide more medical care to more people and the cost goes up. Preventative medical care will not significantly bring down the cost because most of the prevention is within the purview of the individuals themselves. Healthy living including more exercise and better eating habits.

 

Your failure to understand graphs noted. Or maybe, which is even worse, how the economy works.

What did you think the effects of budget deficits were? Who do you think suffers most of the consequences of not balancing the budget at a time of a healthy economy?

Yes they did go argue with the OMB and their historical tables of revenues and expenditures and result deficits/surpluses. The surpluses and paltry deficits came under Republican budgets and policies.
