It's not the Dems' fault that since 1989 voters have turned to them to clean up the mess left behind by Republicans.

Natural selection. Survival of the fittest ... or the smartest.

Those who don't take this seriously or think it doesn't apply to them are displaying selfishness combined with stupidity, a very bad combination. I don't care if those fools get sick, but I do care about their victims,

    What does Graham say ???

Why do you assume I’m ignoring medical advice ??

With a growing economy we can afford to treat everyone.

    That's not true.

China overcame it by confining 160 million people. There are no more new cases out there.

And those measures were taken when there were 81,000 cases.

US will have over 100,000 in less than three days...

I suspect you're wrong about that.

The virus is killing people. What cure is worse than death?

I, too, hit the trifecta in this virus' death demographic. I think the entire country should be self-isolating at this time. Look at what's happening in Italy since they shut it all down: fewer new cases and fewer deaths in the last few days. China and South Korea both turned the corner by doing the same.

No, but where this virus is concerned, we are following in their footsteps. Their numbers are just now starting to decline a tad, mostly because they locked it down. I think we should learn from that.

Trump has said it will depend on the disease subsiding.

But, NOBODY in science thinks COVID is going to subside in that time period. And, Trump says he's consulting with BUSINESS people and political friends.

Today, we're experiencing exponential growth - doubling the number of cases about every 3 days. And, medical experts are sayikng this coming week is going to be really bad.

That's the growth rate that happened in Italy.

We NEED to know the truth so we don't do stupid stuff.

The NYTimes has growth rates for important countries in a chart. Please remember it uses a logrithmic scale so a straight upward sloping line is really bad news.

    Good Luck with That.

I am still thinking Late-May (at the absolute earliest).

Trump (obviously, as always) has no idea what he is talking about.

That isn't what's holding this up, despite the highly partisan ravings of Moscow Mitch.

I imagine that, like politicians have always done, some of that was stuck in there to be used as bargaining chips in order to get the really important stuff accomplished, and that's probably what they're doing right now, bargaining. "I'll give you oversight on the corporate bailouts if you delete the solar power stuff." Etc.

In what way that affects this disease are we not Italy?

Please answer in light of the fact that our case growth rate is just as bad as it ever was in Italy.

    Graham:
I dispute what Trump is saying as it counters all medical scientists on this issue.

We do NOT give people healthcare based on how well our economy is growing.

We give healthcare based on ability to pay, with SOME help for those in ceertain categories.

There are millions today who do not have insurance coverage or federal/state coverage AND can't pay, especially now that they are out of a job. We still have people going bankrupt due to health care costs.

ALSO, INS has been camping around hospitals to nab those who aren't documented. The result is that those who have COVID and aren't documented dare not get healthcare, apply for testing, etc.

It's simple politics; both sides do it regularly. The republicans got what they wanted in the bill and now the democrats want certain things in the bill. Both parties are a part of the same hypocrisy.

True - with possible mitigation if medical science finds an actual treatment that works.

    That's not hypocrisy.

Our congress was designed as a way for representatives to come together and represent diffrent constituencies.

Republicans are seriously worried about the stock market, corporate entities, etc. Dems have NOT objected to aid for business that is reasonably responsible.

Democrats want consideration for those who are wage earners without work, those who are working necessary jobs, but are allowed no sick time and whose jobs offer no insurance, and the millions of others who are caught with essentially no way to protect themselves from COVID as they run out of money for food.

Republicans have allowed for some of that.

Calling this debate "hypocrisy" is just not acceptable.
