I believe it's time for states to look honestly at their situations and act accordingly. The city of new york needs vastly different managment nowheresville USA. One size fits all is a bad approach.
To make a choice is just fine. The problem exists when government moves to end any choices. I have ignore Covid entirely and gone on with my life as usual. So I'm not affected by it. But the economy is certainly affected by it.
I've been out there, every day selling people essential sprinkler parts, decorative lighting, kitchen remodels, appliance upgrades, etc. People are already ignoring the "lockdown " and have been since it started.
If they are under 19 they are more likely to die of the flu then Covid. Under 19 has the lowest chance of dying of Covid.
you don't belong on this forum. you're line of thinking is too considerate and carefully thought out. in other words, you're too smart for most of these yahoos
Good points. I mentioned on another thread that a nursing home near here had over a hundred cases of Covid-19. We also have one of the highest number of cases in the state. You have to stop and ask how 102 people in that home came down with the virus. The answer is simple--social contact. The virus was brought in by others--the asymptomatic carriers. I very much dislike all that's going on, and look forward to the day when this is over, but we all have a role to play in ending it.
they were following the Presidents recommendations, the buck stops with the President - this was the Trump lockdown and it ends today if they meet Trump's recommended requirements
Fed chair says this is the worst economy in history Trump now owns the worst economy in history. In a gallows humor sort of way, that is freaking hilarious. MAGA!!! On top of that, trump lovers are crying about trump's fascist state. The is even more hilarious!!! MAGA!!!!!
Science gives us facts. It doesn't "decide" anything. Different people will take whatever infection or mortality rate you want to posit; even if the scientists are in 100% agreement as to what the facts, are, our leaders will disagree on how to respond.
Fascist state? Trump hasn't shuttered any newspapers, locked up any dissidents, outlawed any parties, assassinated any rivals, or even ordered anyone to stay home to my knowledge . So what are you talking about?
The Federal Guidelines. He even jumped on the Governor of Georgia for opening too soon...after praising him. I guess you don't get out much...
He could declare martial law and force all of the fascists governors to reopen the states. He could declare war on California. But he is really a part of the deep state now and it is all a part of a liberal conspiracy.
The bucks stops with the people who have the power and responsibility to shut down a state or order it open . . . the governors. The leftist-allied Mainstream Media at the behest of the DNC -- for cynical political reasons -- HOWLED about that several weeks ago. It was a big media deal . . . and our leftists . . . cheered. Moving the goal posts after the fact is not really an option for the political Left at this point.
Intolerance? Prejudice? Not at all. I just despise all trumpers. So now we understand each other. I consider you to be the enemy.because you and people like you are enemies of the Constitution. You have destroyed the country.
Voted yes because of all you pantywastes that will die in economic collapse. You will make me feel bad. I'm ready for Mad Max/The Road. You are not. And damnit, my emotionless, robotic approach to life has limits. I can't feed all your children, so we need to get things running again before you can't either.
Actually, I don't. There's a pandemic. But seriously ... "guidelines"? As in non compulsory recommendations? You need to familiarize yourself with the term "fascism" before you throw it casually around to try to score political points.
Thats some rediculousness right there. Which I can appreciate. Which is why I liked it. Here's to hoping you recognize the rediculousness of it as well
Not true. It was covid dictating what we ought to do. Trump took recommendations from from his experts and passed it along and governors took it over from there. Trump is responsible for the recommendations he gave. Governors are responsible for their actions and people are responsible for their own actions.
Trump was the decider, Trump decided, the buck stops there - the Trump shutdown is coming to an end Trump today decided not to extend the lock down and has given his recommendations for reopening
