If they are chasing you. I believe you have a right stand your ground and defend your life.

They have been charged with murder and kidnapping.

They won't be leaving prison for a long time, whether the kidnapping charge is dropped or not.

If a civilian is shouting at me to "stop" and is brandishing a fire arm at another civilian who has been jogging down the street, the shotgun armed man is danger of being shot then and there.

Aren’t we told repeatedly by 2A advocates that of you draw a weapon you had better be prepared to use it?
So it is pretty reasonable for anyone seeing a drawn weapon to be in fear for his life. Particularly if two guys have been stalking him, chasing him down then exit a vehicle with weapons drawn.

Looking back through the articles, no you're right, I can't find any ref to rifles, just Travis' gun stolen from his pickup.

    1. Irrelevant
    2, Irrelevant
3, Does have to steal anything to be a burglar. What white folks entering the house? Pure supposition.
    4. Doesn't matter, if you knew your neighbour's house was being burgled wouldn't you try to arrest the suspect?
    5. Because of the previous encounter
    6. Who cares what colour he was? Oh of course YOU do, you think people should be treated differently due to the colour of their skin.
    7. You can see on the vid Arbery and Travis confronting one another but their exact actions are unfortunately blocked by the truck. As you say, we don't know what was being said so we'll have to rely on the account from the father and son who are the only witnesses.
    8. Yes, Arbery's actions are reasonable but so are Travis', this is a tragedy, not a murder.
    9. Supposition, the other DA reached the exact same conclusion. "All these folks" run in the same circles, what folks would thy be exactly?
    10. You should change your name to 'superbigotedbrutha'?

When were they charged with kidnapping? Surely it's just murder and assault? They'll probably plead down to manslaughter, dad will go free, son might get a couple of years but only serve a few months. If they get convicted of murder they have huge grounds for appeal.

Sure, but if you get your feelings hurt and decide to attack them then you get what you get.

Sure but only a little. If one has sufficient common sense , one does not attack someone who is carrying a gun.

Right, so just throw out some BS about all these thief's
and then when challenged on them they are irrelevant. Smfh.
Again throw out BS and hope it sticks.
    OMG, catch up dude.
No, I would call the police. They are PAID to arrest folks I am not.
You mean the one that they can't prove was Arbery.
This case proves exactly what color means.
What video shows Arbery and Travis confronting each other.
This would have never happened if Travis had not exited his vehicle wielding a shotgun, so NO his actions are not reasonable unless he was planning on using it.

A back water hick town and you don't think a guy who has been in LE for years doesn't know the DAs and other cops.

    Whatever you say Reasonablewithwhites Bob.

When someone is chasing you with guns, your freakin feelings is not what you are worried about getting hurt.

    1. 'Thefts' and they are very relevant, the fact he hadn't stolen anything on this occasion is irrelevant, you don't need to steal anything to be guilty of burglary, just enter as a trespasser with intent.

    2. Nope, quite true.

    3. Same to you.

    4. They did call the police.

    5. They don't have to, just have reasonable suspicion.

    6. Yes, it proves that political correctness can overturn the rule of law.

    7. The one where we can glimpse them behind the truck wrestling for the shotgun.

    8. This would never have happened had Arbery not entered as a trespasser and then flee the scene. Travis' actions are very reasonable, he was confronting a possibly armed burglar.

    9. So what? Doesn't make their decision wrong.

    Whatever you say Superbiaswithblacksbrutha!

So you think the officers that beat RK were justified. Not sure what incident in Chicago you are talking about.

Oh my, you're seriously going back to they're charged with kidnapping. Even your buddy said you were completely wrong on that one. Okay sounds like you refuse to even look at this case at all. Clueless and/or stubborn.

Pay close attention to the jury that is picked. The race of the jury will determine whether these two men get a fair trial or not.

Such as the majority of rioters in the Michael Brown case, when law enforcement officers were told to stand down and take no action in incidents that involved assault, violence, arson and looting?

In the previous statement on the part of yourself, the statement was made that the action of the part of the McMichael's would be seen as a threat, and action would be taken in response because you believed you were being threatened. Essentially you would be convinced your position and belief was right, despite not having anymore facts than those at the time.

How exactly does such a position differ from that of the McMichael's and their belief that their actions were justified, based on nothing more than the facts they had at the time? How exactly would your belief legally be regarded as better, or anymore correct?

Was the firearm visible or alluded to in such a hypothetical scenario?

Then don’t whine when the law places you in their personal living quarters then.

If a full statement is not going to be made on the part of yourself, cease with making half statements and then abruptly abandoning them. Such may be acceptable in face-to-face conversations where communication is happening in real time, but there is no sense via text communication where only the finished product is submitted via a deliberate action.
