    To what end?
You do realize that Progressive agendas closely resemble or result in outcomes like those of the authoritarians in Cuba and Venezuela etc?

    What do "Progressives" want?
    Free abortions for all?
    A Gay president?
    The end of Christianity?
The end of birthright US citizenship?
Welfare for all of Earth's inhabitants...paid for by ?
    Chinese representatives in our Congress?

I mean, literally, I see no positive outcome from ANY Progressive agenda.
To me it looks completely regressive.

Rather than try to transform America into another failed authoritarian state, it seems if they were smart they'd
work on keeping the current system but improving it within the parameters of the existing Constitution.

Right. You were told to hate.....and so hate you do.
I haven't seen a coherent post from you in weeks that makes any sense as to valid reasons why.

Just the endless loop of "Orange Man Bad"

Your literacy is not my concern. I don't dislike him because he's orange. I dislike him because of his attacks on our Constitution and for the fact that he's a serial con man and liar. I'm sorry that the facts offend your idol worship. They won't stop being facts.

But shut off all critical thinking and just resort to the "Orange man God, Orange man critics bad" loop.

Oh, but I can. Sometimes, "law' and "justice" are in conflict.

When the law and justice are on a collision course, and the lawmakers can't get it together to right a wrong in law, THAT is precisely when a president SHOULD act, to correct a gross injustice, under a concept that JUSTICE IS THE LAW, or should be, above all else. The repubs in congress wouldn't allow a DACA law to be created, so Obama, out of compassion, did something about it. It was not out of 'thin air' as you like to characterize it, it's about compassion.

If someone has a problem with that, they can always sue, and let SCOTUS deal with it. IS this to say anyone who thinks a law is unjust can violate it?

    Not at all.

Trump tried to repeal Obama's EO, Team Trump has taken it to court.

Currently, DACA kids are awaiting a SCOTUS ruling which could come any day now. If SCOTUS rules for Trump, and Repubs do not allow a DACA bill, then some 700,000 persons who were born in another country, but whose parents took them to America early in their lives, such that they are Americans in every way, many having served in the military, educated, and many do not speak their native country's language, will be deported.

Imagine if that were you? I swear, republicans are evil, if that is what they want to do with these people, pure evil.

President can do something about righting wrongs, when he can. Trump is more interesting wronging what was right, if Obama's name was on it.

Try reading instead of copy/pasting arguments against you.

Already have. Catch up. Taxes without Congress. Spending without Congress. Attacks on due process. Numerous anti-1st Amendment lawsuits.

Trump University. Constant public lies that you refuse to consider.

Any more indications you'd like to provide that you will avoid the facts at all costs and will resort to trolling instead?

Do you really think money means anything? It can't... I mean how could it with the government trillions of dollars in debt? And then to spend 2 trillion in one shot.

"I'm a progressive liberal, if elected, I promise to take away your freedom,, your wallet, your religion, and turn your kids gay".

I used to kid repubs when I would say the above, kid them because they kinda think that way, but of course, the above is an exaggeration, a cartoon of how repubs think of progressives and democrats.

I was kidding, exaggerating, But here you are, you ARE that guy. You actually believe this crap, literally, without exaggeration!!! WTF? .

Jeezus ****. You sound like you've been accepting everything Breitbart and GatewayPundit has been dishing out. You really ought to fact check some of that stuff,

    Okay.....

Mostly what progressive libs want is medicare for all.

    Sensible gun control.

If you are in business, you can't discriminate against race, color, creed ,or sexual orientation.

No where in progressivism is there any policy recommendation to end anyone's religion, I don't know where you get that one.

Who said liberals want to end birthright citizenship? Where do you get this crap? The opposite is true. Trump wants to end it. We support the 14th amendment, oppose Dred Scott.

Why can't a gay person be president? Progressives have no agenda for gays other than they should be equals in every way, to heteros.

Welfare needs reform. Personally, I support a negative income tax (to bring all incomes up to just above the poverty level, if they are not already), which, by the way, was supported by the famous libertarian economist, Milton Friedman.

We have Asian Americans in congress, what is the problem?

No, progressive I know wants an authoritarian regime. We want MORE democracy not less. Where do you get this nonsense?

As for 'failed regimes' , the happiest places on earth are said to be in the netherlands, who have much of what I mentioned above.

I must say, that was eye opening!

You don't believe in law at all! Your Judge Dredd theory of Obama's DACA is...unique. You want a strong man to right the wrongs that the law doesn't provide. I wouldn't worry about Trump's "fascism" or "breakdown on the rule of law." When that happens, and it comes from one of your guys, you'll praise it.

It would be good if one would read up a bit on "fascism" before throwing the term around. Robert Paxton, of Columbia:

[Robert Paxton, Columbia] author of several books, including "The Anatomy of Fascism" (Vintage, 2005), said fascism is based more on feelings than philosophical ideas. In his 1988 essay "The Five Stages of Fascism," published in 1998 in the Journal of Modern History, he defined seven feelings that act as "mobilizing passions" for fascist regimes. They are:

The primacy of the group. Supporting the group feels more important than maintaining either individual or universal rights.

Believing that one's group is a victim. This justifies any behavior against the group's enemies.

The belief that individualism and liberalism enable dangerous decadence and have a negative effect on the group.

A strong sense of community or brotherhood. This brotherhood's "unity and purity are forged by common conviction, if possible, or by exclusionary violence if necessary."

Individual self-esteem is tied up in the grandeur of the group. Paxton called this an "enhanced sense of identity and belonging."

Extreme support of a "natural" leader, who is always male. This results in one man taking on the role of national savior.
"The beauty of violence and of will, when they are devoted to the group's success in a Darwinian struggle," Paxton wrote. The idea of a naturally superior group or, especially in Hitler's case, biological racism, fits into a fascist interpretation of Darwinism.

    https://www.livescience.com/57622-fascism.html

You might have something with the last one (national savior). But politicians are always elected on the promise to save us from one thing or the other. Lazy Trump haters will of course latch on to any element of any one of these tests as proof that Trump is a "fascist", no matter how strained the comparison. And the others just don't fit.

But they have called Trump every other name in the book. I suppose one more won't hurt. What worries me is that any call for law and order in this crazy country can be compared to Nazism. "You want to control the borders to keep out illegal aliens ... JUST LIKE HITLER!"

It's similarly unfair to call every progressive a communist just because he wants government to help the poor.

There you go creating Strawman arguments. Jeez, you're a trip. To wit:

I did not posit a 'judge Dredd theory of Obama's DACA.

Judge Dredd is a comic book character. Are you kidding me? Are you paying attention at all?

I was referring to Dredd Scott, as in Dredd Scott v. Sanford, I was referring to a FAMOUS case whereby African Americans were not allowed citizenship, which gave rise to the 14th amendment, which is not unique, it's frickin' history.

    Additional strawmans by you:

The "tell" is your use of language, ie., "strongman", see, you view dems as people who love dictators. As strawmans go, it doesn't get more text book than that..

Until you can shake that lens, you'll always see crooked.

Not much I can do about it.

I hate to tell you this, but not all laws are enforced.

And, the "law" was never meant to be so rigid that a gross injustice should be never allowed to continued without some kind of remedy (if repubs and dems couldn't get their act together on an issue) such as a presidential EO Or that the constitution can't be amended, or it's interpretation cannot be updated by SCOTUS to reflect changing values in society.

Remember the quote in the previous comment I gave?

And while Chief Justice John G. Roberts Jr. indicated that the administration was on solid legal footing in saying the program was unlawful, he said the Supreme Court could rule in a humane way, minimizing the hardships people participating in the program would face if it were ended.

So, I guess, in your bizarre universe, a SCOTUS judge is a 'strongman'.

Sorry, it just isn't so. See if you can resist resorting to strawman arguments. I would appreciate it.

Look, I think you've made your point clear, so there isn't much need in you pretending to dismiss it while really doubling down on it. I read you loud and clear, and enjoy the new context to view your little thread.

    Quite entertaining!

More from Paxton, courtesy of Wiki, and I'd say this corresponds exactly to Hitler and Mussolini and not at all to Trump:

Fascism (/ˈfæʃɪzəm/) is a form of far-right, authoritarian ultranationalism characterized by dictatorial power, forcible suppression of opposition, and strong regimentation of society and of the economy[3] which came to prominence in early 20th-century Europe.[4] The first fascist movements emerged in Italy during World War I, before spreading to other European countries.[4] Opposed to liberalism, Marxism, and anarchism, fascism is placed on the far-right within the traditional left–right spectrum.

Of course, many on the left are paranoid, and so they honestly believe that Trump is a dictator, forcibly suppressing opposition and regimenting society.

    It's laughable.

We need to distinguish deportable from deported. The former are in the USA and are subject to removal proceedings, but they have rights and defenses. ICE doesn't just round them up and put them in cattle cars.

Are there any examples of law abiding illegal aliens who are also military veterans having been deported?

What? Says who? In the first place, we don't all agree on what "justice" means. To the father of a girl raped by an illegal alien, "justice" is a lynching. But it's prohibited. That's why we pass laws and everyone is expected to obey them. If you don't like it, you change the law, or get the Supreme Court to strike it down. The president in our constitutional scheme has zero role in "correcting injustice." Talk about fascism.

IG's serve at the pleasure of the President and are not GODS an above reproach or not carrying out the jobs to the satisfactions of their bosses.

WASHINGTON — President Barack Obama says he has lost confidence in the inspector general who investigates AmeriCorps and other national service programs and has told Congress he is removing him from the position.

You can strawman anything, congratulations. There is a concept in law called 'the reasonable person'. That 'justice' is not 'reasonable' to a reasonable person
    .
    Apparently not true:

Obama did an EO for DACA because in order to correct in injustice, and it's held up for a long time, SCOTUS will rule on it soon, but this was written thus far:
    https://www.nytimes.com/2019/11/12/us/supreme-court-dreamers.html
And while Chief Justice John G. Roberts Jr. indicated that the administration was on solid legal footing in saying the program was unlawful, he said the Supreme Court could rule in a humane way, minimizing the hardships people participating in the program would face if it were ended
    .

Now why would Roberts say that if the law was just? It's called, correcting an injustice.

Justice, that's waht the law is about, and when it isn't, we fix it so that it is. Congress, it's dems vs repubs, they aren't always able to agree on things.

Sometimes, justice finds another way. If you think sending 700,000 to another country they have little in common with, is 'justice', you are not going to win elections.

Besides, if you gave a damn about law, you wouldn't be voting for Trump, he cares less about the law more than any other president.

Which states are begging for a bail out? It's New York that wouldn't survive very long without taxpayer dollars from all over the country

Should Florida Bail Out New York?

In 2010 New York’s population of 19.378 million was larger than Florida’s 18.8 million. By mid-2019 Florida had grown to 21.48 million, according to the Census Bureau, while New York had barely increased to 19.453 million. Yet Mr. Cuomo recently signed a budget for fiscal 2021 of $177 billion that is even bigger than last year’s, papering over what was a $6 billion deficit before the coronavirus. Florida’s budget for fiscal 2021, not yet signed by new Governor Ron DeSantis, is expected to be about $93 billion.

Democrats in Albany are claiming to be victims of events that are out of their control. But they have increased spending by $43 billion since 2010—about $570,000 for each additional person. Florida’s budget has increased by $28 billion while its population has grown 2.7 million—a $10,400 increase per new resident...

...."Mr. Cuomo pleads poverty by claiming New York is a “donor” state to the federal government. But federal dollars account for about 35.9% of New York’s spending compared to 32.8% of Florida’s, according to the Tax Foundation. New Yorkers pay more in federal taxes than what Albany gets back because the progressive federal tax code hits high earners the hardest and New York still has many high earners. The “donors” are individuals, and the money isn’t Mr. Cuomo’s."
