You have no idea what follows from your own proclamations. You defined "Socialism" as 100% State ownership - and nothing else.

    Has this position changed ?

The jury is out on Lincoln.
But many would not consider Lincoln a conservative.

    Political Views
Lincoln was the first Republican president. He also championed freeing the slaves, his greatest legacy. His focus on individual freedoms and liberties probably would have put him the in Libertarian camp in today's American political environment.
    https://hollowverse.com/abraham-lincoln/

The South is and always has been deeply Christian. More so than the rest of the country.
    Most Christians are deeply conservative.

So there is no concrete proof on the south as conservative. But they can hardly ever be called liberal.

Nope that's the definition in the texts when I was in school. And please one can still approach socialism incrementally.

Your definition - at least what I thought it was - we have been discussing for numerous post - this is the first time you have said "That is not my definition"

So if your definition includes more than owning all means of production - what on earth is your definition ?

How does one approach socialism incrementally in your mind - other than the example I previously gave - "Partial Ownership"

    lol - no, it's not.

Communists are the masters of revisionist history. They have always been failures so they have to attempt to steal other great men's pasts from them. Nothing about America has ever been "Marxist". The entire spirit of America is antithetical to Marxism.

Are you not aware that conservative means to conserve the power of the aristocracy. Have you not been paying attention? Everytime Republicans have given tax cuts, the vast majority of those cuts go to the wealthiest. Everytime they cut regulations, they cut regulations that effect the wealthy, and business owners, not common people. When you go to work, you are only employed because your employer makes money off of you. Whenever you purchase a product, a half or more of the purchase price goes to making someone other than you wealthier.

And of course you don't think the wealthy should rule. That is why you support a trust fund baby, with a personality disorder for president.

Do you know what the difference is between conservatives and liberals, you and me. I spoke out of having been misinformed, I know better now and will no longer make that mistake. However, as has been repeatedly demonstrated on this forum, conservatives will make false claims and no matter how much evidence is presented, will continue to insist their disproven facts have never been disproven. It is why I no longer argue global warming, or pretty much any science with any conservative. If y'all don't want to know, then y'all don't wanna know.

Until the election in November. Trump isn't building his stupid wall.

I really liked how Nancy Pelosi played the stimulus bills. Enough Republican Senators were in quarantine that it gave the Democrats the majority. For a few days. The Republicans screamed, hollered, and cried that the Democrats were holding up the much needed stimulus. But what they did was they made it better. They specifically prevented any money going to Trump, his family, and associates. The Republicans had envisioned a plan that mostly helped the wealthy and corporations, as is common. The Democrats made sure that the rest of us got $1200 a piece.

Kind of like how you claim liberals are happier than conservatives. When I presented evidence that the opposite is true, conservatives are in fact happier than liberals, you simply dismissed it with some bs.

    Y'all don't want to know, I guess.

It wasn't real proof, not really. Conservatives like to say they are happier, but then I am a very happy person and generally I don't find conservatives to be all that happy. It seems all they do is bitch and moan. Half of everything they say sounds somewhere between an insult towards others and defending their own silliness. I guess if that is your version of happiness, then happy on.

I've got to tell you, I feel the same way. All the liberals do is seem to bitch, moan and insult others. But my impressions are gathered from sources like this one and people discussing politics tend to bitch and moan. I draw no conclusions.

I am also interested in knowing how you concluded that conservatives lie about how happy they are. It would seem to be a difficult fact to discover. You could just as easily argue that liberals are lying about how unhappy they are.

I mean, I could conclude that you are lying about how happy you are because you "doth protest too much" how happy you are. It is easy to rationalize away inconvenient facts.

But I am willing to take you are your word that you are happy. The fact doesn't make me unhappy. Why are you unwilling to do the same for conservatives?

Gee, you argued before that liberals are smarter, too. How did all those conservative dummies get into college?

I tried to find stats on college students political views but surprisingly couldn't find any except a state that says 60% of college students voted for Obama and 36% voted for Romney. Where do you get your stats?

I would like to know for my own edification.

Yes. You told lies and I told the truth. You should have stopped right there.

You made up false statements about soy beans, tofu and other topics and I actually took the time to correct you by doing just a little bit of research.

The difference is pretty crystal clear and it doesn't look very good for you. You don't even realize that every time you try to come back with something witty or clear, you just digging yourself into a bigger hole.

So I'm actually glad this thread exists, as a former Liberal who can bash my once great party. All one has to do is observe the shutdowns, and the arguments for the shutdown to see where the party once was. The party that used to make an uproar about the Patriot Act, now endorses the measures in order to get to Trump.

Likewise, it's okay to financially starve the citizens that THEY govern, again in order to get to Trump. Last I checked, consent of the governed enabled the political power of a State and without which it's little more than an enforced mob rule. There was a Liberal news writer who wrote an explosive article on this.

Everything Liberals stood against in the GWB era, they are for now. And as you noted, wealth inequality by means of massive taxation on the masses, has resulted in places like Silcon Valley, where the high tech mongols get rich, but the poor and destitute in California are literally ******** themselves outside. What a great utopia!

Notice how the OP does not criticize the scenarios such as California, or New York or the property taxes such as in Philadelphia. That's because it runs counter narrative to the paux intellectual theory that I once propagated as a liberal. But because I'm a real intellectual, who doesn't believe in talking out of my ass the moment Liberals embraced neo-cons, I left the party. My consistency and philosophy beckoned me to leave the party.

I am now a Nationalist, a self-proclaimed Fascist-Technocrat. The Third Position which is moronically dubbed 'far right' even though we don't seek to conserve anything, but to evolve and strengthen the frail and weak institutions, corroded by corrupt influence inside of them.

Real, actual improvements to society are always made by appreciating what made society function in the first place. But if you lack appreciation for those things you can't improve on it, or conserve it. You can only destroy it. And that's what today's Liberals are doing: Destroying American Society, either because it was "made by a bunch of conservatives" or "white people" or for some Liberals: Both.

I was reading through your posts on Susan Rice and Joe Biden. You were all giddy about what was neither in Rice's email or what was said in Biden's phone call. It is truly people like you who make me very grateful that I was born a liberal.
