Jesus was a Semite so he looked like the Syrians and Sephardic Jews. He might have been fairer as they say, because his skin was highly sensitive - even though the old Greek icons do not show Jesus as being fair.

That's ridiculous! There are areas in China where the people are European and not Chinese. Also what about the Semites in the Middle East. Where do they fit into your race theory?
Of course we do! We have legs, arms, heads, eyes, mouths, etc., etc., etc.
And I can look at an ancient statue and tell you by the face whether it was a Greek or Roman man. I can also tell you if a Greek statue was made in Italy or Greece simply by the subjects physical proportions. Does this mean they were different races?

And if it was a thousand years ago, the coroner would have been able to tell from the head shape and physical proportions if the person was from Southern Europe, Northern Europe or Central Europe. Does that mean they're different races?
There were biological, physiological and anatomical differences between all tribes because people tend to marry among themselves. The further away tribes are, the more differences there would be.

Greeks ran the government of Egypt for around 3 centuries after it was invaded by Alexander the Great. They continued to run the Egyptian government under Roman rule when that became the dominant culture in the Mediterranean.

Did you want to dispute something in the article or are your attempts at humor to distract from the fact that you cannot?

The Code of Hammurabi and the Egyptian forty-two precepts of Ma'at contain the original versions of what subsequently became the 10 commandments.

LMAO!!! I made no claim to the color of this character you call Jesus.
No Bible I've ever seen describes Israelites as you describe.

I merely stated you claim he's black and the other poster claims he's white.
You each have your own version of this Jesus character from the bible. The best we can say about this character is he's from the Middle East. And his color is unknown, but likely the color of every other ME person back 2000 yrs ago.

Wow, this thread has really gone off the rails with a lot of nutso posts, so let me try to get this back on topic. This guy wants white people to kill themselves as an ethical act.

White people should commit suicide as an ethical act,’ Duquesne professor says

Duquesne University Professor Derek Hook said there are merits to the argument proposed by another professor who argued that it would be ethical for white people to kill themselves.

The anti-critical race theory group Mythinformed MKE posted the video recently. “This is part of an ‘anti-racist’ discussion on ‘nice white therapists held by the [American Association for Psychoanalysis in Clinical Social Work],” the group wrote on Facebook. The video appears to be from a summer session hosted by Hook, though the content is not otherwise publicly available.

“White people should commit suicide as an ethical act,” the top of a presentation by Hook said.

He quoted from a South African philosophy professor named Terblanche Delport, who wrote in 2016 about white people killing themselves.

Delport allegedly made similar comments in 2016, in reaction to racial division in the former apartheid state.

    Discuss.

In bold, fully agree and that guy, if the article is accurate, is a bit more than nuts. Should not be a professor or should come with a warning.

If the Israelites all had curly hair and corn rows, wouldn't the Sephardic Jews have it today?

This is considered an actual image of Jesus' mother. The icon is called Our Lady of Jerusalem. It appears there are two images of the same icon. One is attributed to Saint Luke and was taken from Jerusalem to Constantinople in the 5th century. In the 9th century it was taken to Korsun (Kherson), where it was presented to the Great Prince Vladimir after his conquest of the city in 988.

The other image is in Jerusalem at the place where the Virgin Mary fell asleep. In 1870 a nun called Tatiana saw the Virgin in her dream asking her to paint her portrait. When she woke she told the Mother Superior but she didn't believe her.

When she went back to her cell there was a bright light so she told her Superior and they both saw an icon shining with a portrait of the Virgin Mary. The nun had been told in her dream to place the icon at the place in Jerusalem where Mary had fallen asleep.

In the icon Mary looks like a Sephardic Jew, and since Jesus had only one set of genes, He had to have looked like His Mother.

This is the Russian one which does appear to be quite old except for the image itself, which is ageless. Saint Luke was Greek, and the letters do appear to be Greek. Then again the background might have been painted in Constantinople.

Why would I dispute anything in the article. It was believed before that blacks did not have Neanderthal genes, and now it was proven differently. Thank you for letting me know, but why would you assume that I'm trying to distract from anything? Strange!

I want to make a correction here. I realize that the icon is in a frame, and the style of the frame is definitely Russian not Greek. The letters then would be Russian.

Y dont spanish jews have curly hair? They do but you and most others do not know them as spanish jews. Europeans, as the bible states, would begin to call jews not jews but many other bywords, like negro, african american and a whole host of derogatory terms.

The pics of mary and the baby are not the first pics of the two. The first illustrated bible was ethiopian which depicted mary and baby as having dark skin and curly hair. Ethiopian means dark skin, thats the etymology.

Those are more "wavey" but id agree with the premise that even many of todays greeks do have tight curly hair, ihave a friend like that..this perhaps is due to their historical close contacts with africans (egypt).

Greeks were also referred to as black in the south, and believe me when some of them get a tan, they are very dark. One of my relatives, who my sister felt was the best looking man she ever saw in her life, shocked the manager of a hotel in Florida in the 1950's. He didn't know if he was white or not.

Also a cousin of mine who was also highly attractive and very tanned, visited us from Los Angeles in the 60's and shocked some black women. They couldn't tell if she was white or a black woman passing herself off as white.

So how can they say there are 3 or 4 distinct races because of color? There are variations in everything, so why label people as belonging to a certain group when it really has to do with our standards and who we feel comfortable with?
I know that the picture that appeared miraculously on Juan Diego's Tilma in Mexico of Mary is dark, although not that dark. The features and coloring would be more to what the native Americans could relate to - as are her clothing, etc. Because of it, millions of Mexican natives converted in a few years.

Well the interesting part of this that you agreed with is this: "This guy wants white people to kill themselves as an ethical act. "

Perhaps you could discuss your reasons for supporting this?

If that's what you got from my post, I am not sure what you are thinking. I said the professor is nutz and should not be a prof or come with a warning if the article is accurate.
