Yeah, they're a bit like old ladies still wearing beehives. It was 'cool' in their youth, so they keep their hair that way forever. Boomers (and Gen X) are also notorious for being the first generations who refused to grow up. They were the critical mass point for all that safety and plenty, turning us on ourselves by insisting we didn't need no adult responsibility! We could live like teenagers forever. Even when they did do the conventional home and family thing, they very often lapsed in really significant ways - hence producing generations who have no memory or concept of the personal and social responsibility necessary to keep the species alive.

Well I say that the Democrat Party tends to follow the baby boomers because they still have hippie ideas they've lost the aesthetic.

For instance the green stuff we got to care for mother Earth she's angry and we might pay the price for that all that translates to the agw thing.

The only thing they seem to have abandoned hippy ideas on his War. Democrats love killing people in other countries every bit as much as Republicans do.

They're still connected to this hippie commune concept like that's going to work.

Problem we're seeing with younger people trying to imitate that is they don't have the proper work ethic for it.

You can't just together a group of people that like to sit on their ass call yourself a communion and expect to have food or shelter.

Having a little fun with Brandon helps deflate the anger of having our livelyhoods and the ability to care of our families stolen from us by an authoritarian president. Him botching Afghanistan and ditching Americans leaving them under the mercy of tyrannical regime, doesn't help. Nor does the massive inflation and constant printing of money that is sending our country to its doom. Also the border and humanitarian crisis. Man, it's just one thing after another so Let's Go Brandon!

Having your livelihood taken away from you? Hyperbole much?

In any case, nobody is surprised that the covid-induced supply chain crunch is resulting in price increases. And then there was the Trump tax cut during good economic times on the national credit card, i.e. a stimulus. Did you think that wouldn't lead to inflation?

It wouldn't really matter if we had inflation or not. If we didn't, the Trumpers would just claim that Biden is the worst president ever because the recovery from the pandemic is to slow. They did the same to Obama, so nothing new. In any case, we are done listening to the people who think they are economic genius by claiming that tax cuts pay for themselves.

I'd condemn this but anti-Trump folks were doing the same while he was president.

But I guess this does shoot to **** the idea that right-wingers are more mature. Looks like both are brats.

What in the world prompted this gibberish to emerge from your keyboard? Boomers are hippies? That ship sailed a long time ago. As a boomer, let me correct you. Boomers took what was handed to them by our parents and ruined it with greed, selfishness and religion. The turning point was 1980 when enough boomers helped elect the moron Reagan.

    discussion with another poster.
that sounds pretty apt to do what I was saying. The Democrat Party was handed to them and they ruined it with greed selfishness and religion.

You're really not correcting me you're agreeing with me.
I don't think that was the turning point. you seem to have a partisan bent on this.

Baby boomers have probably always been pretty equal Democrats and Republicans.

The observation I was making was that the Democrat Party grew up with you. The Republican Party has to be reborn.

That's pretty funny. But it doesn't have that panache.

I myself dig this one, but I would love to get it customized to look like my beloved Golden Knights helmet. That would look sweet!

First of all, I doubt if you are a boomer so I will cut you some slack. The Democratic (that is the name of our party) Party lost its way because it failed to defend its principles from three fronts: Milton Friedman, Jerry Falwell and Ronald Reagan. All three of these men attacked what was the left and created what became the new Republican Party in the 80s under the philosophy of conservatism. What was conservatism? Whatever Buckley said it was as taught by Ronnie to a shitload of very ignorant boomers and our parents. I knew it was bullshit all along but Ronnie was a great salesman, maybe the best one of the last few cycles. As for the split between dems and repubs on the boomer side, true but a lot of dems voted for repubs during the 80s. But I digress. We were handed a wonderful legacy, an incredible country, mostly new infrastructure, a tax system that protected the middle class and made the rich pay and a sense of national pride and joint commitment that was destroyed in the 60s, 70s and 80s by the reaction to the cultural shifts we experienced. Conservatism was the new religion and here we are today, the eventual product of those ideas and we are being led around by a bunch of idiots trying to tell us they are conservatives.

Oh boy some slack how generous.
I would disagree I'd say you collapsed from within. Like so much baby boomers do they neglected to bring in the younger people. Now you have to fight within your own party against your enemies.

You failed to teach your kids so they want to be socialists you failed to instill party values on them probably because it sold them all out to protect its head people.
see this is another problem you people have you're stuck at 1974. The Republican party is light years beyond that.
maybe you should quit naval gazing and thinking about battles you lost decades ago. There's still a glimmer of hope.

Currently the Democratic party is a broken husk of what it used to be kind of like the president. If you have any hope of it not completely fracturing from within quit being so arrogant and share your values with younger people.
I think the problem with the Democratic party is you're still licking your wounds that Reagan inflicted on you.
you still believe the same lies they tell you.

Middle class carry the heaviest text because Democrats are the party of the rich they do not tax their own.
Underestimations are vital to the success of the Republican Party.

The Republicans can play the Democrats own arrogance against them it's probably their biggest weakness
