Here is the simple answer - Ukrainians didn’t defend Chernobyl area and allowed huge Russian columns to enter from that side exactly because they know that digging in there is dangerous for Ukrainian troops. Russians don’t give a damn about their own soldiers. They saw an “easy” way in and used it. Because taking Kyiv is more important, even at the cost of giving cancers to thousands of Russian soldiers.
Again, if you understand that they are true fascists, then you shouldn’t struggle to understand why such decision was ever made.

Read an article earlier something about a lab with a quantity of dangerous radioactive materials. Not sure why Russia would need that but it said it contributed to the number of Russian soldiers that have radiation sickness. Hard to know what to believe coming out of that mess.

Are they trying to shift the blame to the Ukrainians after sending their idiotic soldiers to hang out in the exclusion zone for a month?

I didn't get that impression, more a comment on how stupid the Russians were behaving.

I see that they are claiming their actions prevented "nuclear provocations" by Ukrainian "nationalists," though.

Putler's propaganda machine works a lot better than his military machine, that's for sure.

    That still doesn't make sense.

    1. There should be some common sense that kicks in there has to be a legit reason an area is left unprotected.
    2. Everyone on the planet heard about Chernobyl. Surely. the Russians should know where it's located.

Maybe Russian schools avoid teaching their pupils about Chernobyl out of embarrassment.

It's poetic justice in a way for the Russians to go in there and get radiation sickness after causing the disaster in the first place.

    Yeah, you might be right.

Video of woman accusing Ukraine of war crimes in Mariupol was a fake made by Russia's FSB spy agency, report says

    • Russian media shared a video of what they said was a Ukrainian woman describing atrocities by Ukraine-allied troops.

    • But independent Russian news agency Mediazona reported that the video was made by Russia's FSB and sent to the press.

    • One of the woman's friends suggested to Mediazona she may have been forcibly taken to Russia.

Something isn't right here, Dur. That doesn't make any sense.

Putin, his advisers, military top brass, field coordinators, strategic planners...there are X number of people that were alive when Chernobyl happened. They all just forgot about it? They all just sent these kids into a nuclear fallout zone and everyone had collective amnesia? No, that didn't happen, Dur.
Sorry, buddy. I can't share in that with you. I would if it was Putin and anybody else going at it but these are kids. I'm a parent and even if I don't agree with how all this came down, all those Russian families are grieving just like the Ukrainian ones are.

I'm also an American citizen and I understood why W. could not let 911 go unavenged (even if they made up their reasons) but I still hurt for all the civilians and soldiers that died over there too. It's never the foot soldiers that call the shots but they and their families are the ones that pay the highest price.

We shouldn't forget the heroism of those Russians who gave their lives containing the mess that is still killing people.

They may think it is a safe zone from Ukrainian attacks?
    Probably right about that.

yeah...pretty much one of the reasons that the UK upped their sanctions ante today...they've targetted a bunch media companies, news agencies, news anchors....basically all those wankers spewing bullshyte to the average Russian.

Perhaps make a little museum about Russian airborne forces so that future generations of Russians can learn about them in the nation that ended their existence. I don't know what casualty rates for the Airboren forces have been so far, but it must be horrific.

So what do you suggest doing about it? Just being racist against white Americans?
