    Nowhere near enough.

    It requires open heart surgery.

American democracy does not exist...it never has...the people dont have a say in who gets elected...Bush lost the popular vote and won because he paid off enough of the electoral college with his oil company money that he won the REAL vote.......

So what are ordinary Americans doing about it?

We would revolt if we had corruption on anything approaching your scale.

There would be blood in the streets. Worse than the riots about a game of rugby in 1982.

And we are not normally a revolting kind of people. Though some here may say otherwise.

Actually we have taken back our democracy. The govt is a reflection of the people. Both are idiotic, stupid, inconsistent, foolish, ignorant, and uninformed.

I totally disagree with you're sentiments!

You get only the government allowed by the AIPAC coalition!
Be it Republican or Democrat...both are hand picked by those same extremists!

But you can start by asking for a new investigation regarding 9/11!
Truth outs those with parisitic needs from the American nation!

I find it odd that Americans have the gall to demean Chinese political society when their own is such a mess.

You don't find Chinese posters here pointing out how undemocratic the American political system is.

Yes. But I dismissed it immediately.

Even the mother of all invention could not reach such a conclusion.

I suspect it is rather that there are no Chinese posters here?

What is that book he's holding? Is that the Communist Bible?

There are several on here claiming to be from China actually (Chinese flags in their profiles). I have debated with people on here before claiming to be Chinese nationals...always either living in Hong Kong or Abroad of course, since there is no way in hell anyone else on the mainland would be allowed to speak freely here.

How did you determine that? Have you interviewed them all personally?

This would be a start to democratic reform. Hopefully they can get Bloomberg.

But there still needs to be a ban on campaign contributions.

In the absence of a democratic form of government in the US, perhaps the interests of the average American would be well served by a form of domestic Wikileaks?

At least they would know how they are being gulled. Even though they are usually to tired to do anything about it.

Mmmmm..............I'll keep my powder dry regarding wikileaks!

I find the media hype regarding Assange very dubious!

If any American law officer required Assange for any reason all they have to do is ask UK government for him and under the UK - American agreement will have Assage wrapped up and sold! No redress regardless"

Looks as though Yanks are at least trying to disnfanchise the corporates that rule their lives.

That deserves a bit of respect.

But they have to live in tents to do it.

Personally, I'm all for eliminating all campaign contributions other than those from the individual citizens(with a limit). No more corporate, union, special interest money.
