The values instilled into the United States Constitution in the 18th century are values that are timeless. The Founding Fathers knew to make a document that could stand the test of time. Just because some were slaveowners does not mean they instilled those values into the Constitution. All of the Founding Fathers had issues in their personal lives. But they knew better not to instill those values in the greatest document of this country.

The 2nd Amendment is a classic example of how the US Constitution is an anachronistic failure.

 

Ya gotta wonder how such a "perfect" document needed 27 amendments plus another 6 that have expired.

 

Meh, it's one of those '(*)(*)(*)(*)ed if you do, (*)(*)(*)(*)ed if you don't' deals. If you change the Constitution, people whine about it not being perfect. If you don't change it, people whine about it not being perfect.

 

The 2nd amendment is pivotal in upholding my rights as a citizen. The main reason he second amendment exist is so that if the federal government ever got too powerful and turned on the people, US citizens would have a fighting change. I support the fully the 2nd amendment.

I don’t think you know what you’re talking about. Those Amendments you claim make it imperfect are actually what make it perfect. Those amendments were designed for the constitution they go hand and hand. The federalists at the time making the bill of rights supported this so the government would not get too powerful. Maybe a history class would clear all this up.
