No he didn't. He used it as a comparator. He was saying that its easier to keep people off of a plane than it is to stop them from having a gun.

I never supported the denial of due process. There is a way to do it for the Terror Watch list. Remember, Citizenship has its privileges

I don't think it should even be restricted from convicted felons, only convicted felons who have committed a violent crime (I'm sure you understand the difference), but that's another discussion for another thread. As far as the mental conditions one goes, it's way more of a slippery slope as you can't immediately determine a mental illness like you can determine someone's missing an arm. If we start to go down the road of subjectivity and basing our decisions on who gets to own weapons based on a doctor's judgment, I just think it leaves too much room for trouble. But I'm certainly open for hearing about a way to objectively diagnose someone as mentally ill and the "kind" of mentally ill that should be restricted from having guns.

 

Maybe Obozo forgot that he already had said that his biggest dissapointment of his Presidential tenure was not being able to pass gun laws.
