    60,000 people A MONTH pouring across our southern border overwhelming our ability to control it IS an national emergency. School shootings are a local law enforcement issue. The SCOTUS will decide both.

    From not a penny for a wall to 1.3 billion? Not what he wanted, but he got some wall money. I wouldn’t call it a win for either side, but it’s definitely a loss for the Dems.

    This. I wouldn't celebrate this as a huge victory for Trump (or America), but it is definitely a loss for the Democrats, largely because their darling Pelosi was so vocal about "not one penny" and 1.3 billion is a helluva lot of pennies.

    A win would have been having Mexico pay for the wall like he yell out so many times. A win would have been able to get the Dems to provide more money, not less than their first offer. Trump just showed the entire world what a piss poor "negotiator" he is despite his claim otherwise.

    By the way, of the 8 billion, 3.6 billion is coming out of the military construction budget, so whatever they had in mind for that money....such as upgrades to VA hospitals...is now GONE. 2.5 billion is coming out of the counter narcotic programs so whatever the original intended use would now be GONE. Congress only allocated about 1.4 billion much less than the 5 billion he wanted.

    Trump LOST...big time.

    Actually Trump has won. The emergency declaration will get tied up in court and go nowhere. Trump isn't going to do anything about illegal immigration except blame Democrats. Nothing of any significance is going to happen. And Trump is going to run on the issue in 2020 and blame Democrats.

    When you have an issue that resonates with your undereducated xenophobic base the last thing in the world you want to do is actually do something to solve the issue. Better to keep the focus on the imaginary so they don't wake up and realize you haven't actually done anything to make their loser lives any better.

    Does anyone actually doubt that is the Trump playbook?

    Their last offer was zero dollars. Trump got considerably more than that. He didn’t win, but the Dems did lose.

    Fake news...their last offer wasn't zero dollar. It was more than the 1.4 billion they put in the final budget. Trump wanted 5 billion. Only in the RW alternate reality did Trump win.

    Robbing money from Peter to pay Paul is now considered....winning? Weak logic.

    Wow...you really need to read up. Some of those suits are filed by LANDOWNERS in TEXAS (a red state) because they don't want to give up their lands. No doubt these are the same fools that voted for Trump.

    Trump would have "won" had he able to get Mexico to pay for the wall. As it is, he is siphoning money from the military budget to build the wall. Trump have failed at healthcare and now he is failing at this issue. The only thing that will save his @$$ in 2020 is if the economy is still hot then.

    I know you want this to be a win for the Democrats, but it’s not, thanks to Pelosi and her mouth saying nothing.

    It’s also not a win for trump, but it’s not a loss either. He got something after all.
