Corporations don't pay taxes. They just collect them in a hidden way. As for individuals, no person should pay more than 10%, excepting user fees (for example gas taxes which directly pay for roads or admission fees to parks, etc) so it seems pointless to discuss until we get that baseline down to 10%.

The US Government takes in more than any other country in total revenue. There must be some waste and overhead somewhere.

 

Most rich people receive most of their money from investments which means the capital gains tax is applied which is a much lower rate than the income tax rate regarding rich people. Change in the capital gains rate and not just the rich pay more but also anyone who is investing for their retirement. This is why both Democrats and Republicans refuse to change the tax codes regarding capital gains.
