Germany nixes US request to join naval mission off Iran

Have not read the whole Thread. Uncle Sam asked for Naval support, not just from Germany but also the UK, France, Norway, Japan, South Korea and...........Australia. 'You' always come aknocking.' I'll bet we agree to assist. I see (in the first six pages I did read) that Germany is copping a hiding and so is Sobo who is valiantly holding his own. My www history demonstrates my view ~ Arabia is for Arabs, including Jewish Arabs....not the West. Let them sort out their angst as they have been for centuries. But nah......the US just had to stick its beak in, propping up Israel and Saudi Arabia....from where the 911 bastards hailed.

 

In addition to that, the possibility that Iran could thwart any initial airstrike by the U.S. is real. The West likes to paint Iran's military as inadequate, rag-tag, and undisciplined. Yeah, it might be true but there's nothing with their aim.

 

Talking about "aim", not only Iran has very good anti-aircraft defenses as you allude to, but its own "aim" isn't too shabby either. Iran is one of a very few countries in the world with ballistic missiles with the precision and guidance to hit ships in the high seas -- and the only one known to have anti-radiation ballistic missiles homing on enemy radars as well as ones which are guided differently, meaning that to avoid the first, a ship would have to turn off its radars, which would then make it vulnerable to the other type of anti-ship missiles Iran has.

The land version of this missile was used in actual combat last year in a pin point strike taking out the headquarters of an anti-Iranian, terrorist group in Iraq. You can read about the attack from this fellow, who works basically for the CIA and whose father was killed in the missile strike.

Of course i support action against enemies. You do as well. You said what targets your army should destroy in Iran. I told you what targets my great grandfather destroyed. In his case the targets were terrorists as well.

 

We killed more enemies than our nation has people. We lost? Who cares, we brought the entire world down. The british and french empire collapsed. The entire world order had to be build new.

There is nothing arabian about Iran. Different language, different culture. Different history. Calling Iran "arabia" is like calling Japan part of Switzerland.

 

Iran is still an enigma, at least to the common observation, and their capabilities seem to be much better than the West is claiming.

It matters because what you said was wrong. You need to admit you made a mistake - we all do or give your reason why you believe Iranians should be linked with arabs. What in your mind makes reality that an arab or an Iranian are one and the same thing. It would be easier to just say you made a mistake but if not you need to explain yourself so that others can understand and agree or disagree with your opinion.

 

The official language of Iran is Persian (aka Farsi in the Persian language) and that is language of the majority of the population. We have a small Arabic speaking minority in the southwest of the country comprising less than 2% of the population. Persian is an Indo-European language while Arabic is a Semitic language.

There is a lot for me to say to you on this subject, but for now you should just be aware that most Persians would take vehement offense being called Arabs.

This name has been used by the Iranian peoples to refer to their homeland for several millennia and while the boundaries of IRAN have ebbed and flowed during its history, Iran is just a different world than Arabia.

Iranian (Farsi) language is not even related to arabic. The two languages belong to completly different language groups. Infact Farsi is related to German, English and Swedish. Its an indoaryan language.

Alexa, I have had this argument a zillion times on the www. I know the facts of which you speak and I know Geography. I'll call Arabia what I want. I don't care if it ruffles your feathers......all I want is the West out of there.
