The thing that you and no other anti-gunners are accounting for is when just the display or a threat of a weapon stops a crime and it's tracks.

When you have handled the situation yourself there is no need to get the law involved because that's only going to become a legal headache for you.

I personally had a situation 20 years ago where I was attacked with a vehicle and just the threat of a gun was enough to keep three punks from jumping on me

 

I had a guy, obviously inebriated or high, try to break into my apartment almost 40 years ago. I detained him at gun point. the police officers showed up-and took him into custody. They asked me if I wanted to press charges or if I wanted to have them handle it. I was graduating law school the next day. I said do what you think is best. They booked the guy for resisting arrest, disorderly conduct and a bunch of other things. I never had to appear in court and no mention of me detaining the guy ever made it into a report. When I was in college-home for Xmas break, my parents were out of town for the weekend. My brothers and I-all chess players, were playing late one night when we heard someone apparently walking on the deck (I house was built into the side of the hill-the deck was well above ground in the rear of the house). We called the police and armed ourselves from the gun cabinet. We turned on flood lights and saw a guy trying to get into the house. he saw we all had shotguns and fled. The police showed up and I explained what happened. The officer in charge asked why we didn't shoot and I explained the guy had not broken into the house. The officer said-"you did the right thing". they looked for the guy but never found him. No report of us being armed etc. that's two cases I personally was involved with where I stopped a B&E by being armed

I always hunted with at least 4 dogs and used Kevlar protective vests for each of them. I never lost a dog but had some that were cut up pretty bad from average sized hogs.

Wild hogs are very quick, very powerful, and have thick skin. I’ve seen dogs completely gutted by a hog because the owners thought their dogs (Pit Bulls and Dogo Argentino’s) were invincible. There is not a dog breed in the world that can take down an adult wild hog 1 on 1. Not happening.
