~ Many Americans have already been infected with Covid-19 and do not know. Any medical laboratory can now do routine antibody test.

Nope. There is no such thing as "same-sex marriage" either.

It has everything to do with abortion.

I simply don't accept lies, and for a man to "identify as" a woman is a man lying to himself (or otherwise deluding himself).

I know I've had my fair share of exposure to it by now, so my adaptive immune system likely hones in on it quite well (in addition to the work that my innate immune system does).

    Exactly. Emotional objection.

There’s been lots of news and opinion articles about covid one way or another in the current events or opinion sections in recent times. I guess this one offended certain liberals sensibilities and had to be banished from general sight.

I'm not sure why you think that only liberals would realize that you shouldn't misrepresent articles. Sounds like you are just offended about getting caught.

Especially since the article in the OP was lying about what the research actually said.

The covid crisis is largely over and no one hardly posts here anymore. But regardless I’ll take the opportunity to rub the mask mandate people’s faces in the crow they are eating over this.

Cool, so if hardly anyone posts here anymore, why did you start a new thread that blatantly misrepresented the research you linked to? Weird flex, bro.

I directly quoted the actual research directly contradicting the conclusion that you are trying to draw form it. When the research you are appealing to "expresses a different opinion" from the one you are claiming it says, then I'm sorry, but you are full of ****. Pro tip: read this kind of **** before pretending it agrees with your position.

Doctors have know that masks don't stop viruses at least since 1947.

    “Abstract

There were 3 influenza pandemics in the 20th century, and there has been 1 so far in the 21st century. Local, national, and international health authorities regularly update their plans for mitigating the next influenza pandemic in light of the latest available evidence on the effectiveness of various control measures in reducing transmission. Here, we review the evidence base on the effectiveness of nonpharmaceutical personal protective measures and environmental hygiene measures in nonhealthcare settings and discuss their potential inclusion in pandemic plans. Although mechanistic studies support the potential effect of hand hygiene or face masks, evidence from 14 randomized controlled trials of these measures did not support a substantial effect on transmission of laboratory-confirmed influenza. We similarly found limited evidence on the effectiveness of improved hygiene and environmental cleaning. We identified several major knowledge gaps requiring further research, most fundamentally an improved characterization of the modes of person-to-person transmission.”

~ When this entire mask fiasco began I did some checking ‐ oldest study I found was back in the 1960's with school children. The most recent was about 2 years ago also with school children — by none other than our own illustrious CDC.
NO significant difference in reducing infection, but an increase in sinus and bronchial irritation/infections. CDC concluded cross ventilation with open windows was the best preventative.

    Such a load of crap.

All of the people in industry like painters and welders and people who work with toxic chemicals and have worn masks all day for decades, must all be dead already.

...not to mention doctors and nurses who have been wearing them in hospitals for over a century.

If you wear a mask, it gets moist. That moisture comes from moisture in your breath that carries the virus. You can weigh it! So it is impossible that transmission is not reduced. Now it may not prevent transmission [esp depending on the mask and how it is worn] but it most certainly reduces the load. And that reduces the exposure other people receive. This isn't complicated.

They may get sick but not as sick due to exposure to you. By wearing the mask you can reduce the viral load they receive.

    “Conclusions
While no cause-effect conclusions could be inferred from this observational analysis, the lack of negative correlations between mask usage and COVID-19 cases and deaths suggest that the widespread use of masks at a time when an effective intervention was most needed, i.e., during the strong 2020-2021 autumn-winter peak, was not able to reduce COVID-19 transmission. Moreover, the moderate positive correlation between mask usage and deaths in Western Europe also suggests that the universal use of masks may have had harmful unintended consequences.”

    You were saying?

Yes. And according to the CDC's source masks don't work.

    “Face Masks

In our systematic review, we identified 10 RCTs that reported estimates of the effectiveness of face masks in reducing laboratory-confirmed influenza virus infections in the community from literature published during 1946–July 27, 2018. In pooled analysis, we found no significant reduction in influenza transmission with the use of face masks (RR 0.78, 95% CI 0.51–1.20; I2 = 30%, p = 0.25) (Figure 2). One study evaluated the use of masks among pilgrims from Australia during the Hajj pilgrimage and reported no major difference in the risk for laboratory-confirmed influenza virus infection in the control or mask group (33). Two studies in university settings assessed the effectiveness of face masks for primary protection by monitoring the incidence of laboratory-confirmed influenza among student hall residents for 5 months (9,10). The overall reduction in ILI or laboratory-confirmed influenza cases in the face mask group was not significant in either studies (9,10).”

Nope. Feelings are irrelevant with regard to truth and lies. A truth is still a truth and a lie is still a lie.

    No doubt.

Experiments have shown that the masks are great at catching bacteria, fungi and other pathogens and holding them close to your face. They are also effective at blocking the airway and causing hypoxia and hypercapnia.

And of course they are a great way to demonstrate one is being submissive and following the herd.

~ Yes. Slow but sure the rest of society is also. I always think — we have not experienced a majority of the U.S. population angry at government. This could happen as more tune out of mainstream media and look for factual information elsewhere ...'
