I know what it stands for....this is the reason I do not **** on Old Glory. Margot2, after giving 23 years in the Army nothing is pageantry for me. If I want to address the police about abuses, I go to the police, If I want to address my local government I go to the steps of the Capitol or county seat. I do not need to disrespect a flag, anthem or people to make my point. I need no props.

Honestly, what does taking a knee accomplish besides a side show theater? Have the Police change policy? Has government changed policy? Any results at all besides talking heads on TV spewing for the the team that they claim is correct? Did all the Threads on this forum bring about any change?

What we have today is all posture, talk, more division and a very good cup of coffee. Nothing gained since I brew my own coffee.

Again I will state that I hired Mr Trump to violently kick both parties in the groin and to do so repeatedly. I got my monies worth to be sure and look forward to many elites regardless of party/sports unable to walk when all said and done.

Keep kicking Mr Trump, you are doing a fine job by me.

When you have millionaires educated for free made possible by sports calling for 'justice' it drips with hypocrisy.

All due respect Toefoot, but if you elected him so shake up Washington, and then voted in the same legislators (Congressional incumbents had a 96% re-election rate) then were doing it wrong

And isn't the "sideshow" the exact way you effect change ? If they don't use the voice they have (kneeling on national television), then they have nothing right ?

    Thanks for your service

We Eagles fans were surer than the Giants fans. This guy missed a 32 yarder against KC, and he missed the 52 yarder prior to that one. There was no way from 61 yards.....WAY. Unbelievable.

I'm glad you mentioned it, because it's a problem. It's the same thing with the Obama Revolution. We 'supported' Obama, but we didn't put in pro-Obama people in Congress, the result ending up being a mixed and ineffective government. Every voter should be thinking that their top ticket vote affects their downticket votes.

Why ? That makes the great assumption that they were always "millionaires". Most of these kids come from very working class backgrounds, and a lot of those were probably very low income homes. These kids remember where they came from, they know hardship and they know struggle. Some of this may be about race, but more of it IMHO is about class. Those that know where they come from have a much different prospective than those who were born with a silver spoon.

And they have a voice. Their voice can reach many people, and they not only have a right to that voice, they have a moral obligation to use it. Whether we agree with what they are saying or not, the fact that they are activly participating in the conversation (by kneeling), is a good thing. We can only get better as a nation if more people participate in the conversation, rather than veg out in front of their TV buying whatever the talking heads are selling ;)

    Sure whatever you say.

I Still see 20 million viewers and an 11 share. There is nothing else close to it on TV.

And funny thing this is nothing more than continuation of Trumps vindictive beef with NFL because they destroyed him and his USFL. The miserable failure that he became part of when he bought a the NJ team.

The NFL will beat him again and again.

I didn't assume anything, I know where they came from , hell I came from the poor side of town and built a successful business as did my brothers with hard work. I applaud their achievements , what they need to do is instead of dividing the country maybe they should head to the inner cities and promote their achievements to other young people. The US govt has spent trillions of dollars over the years in the inner cities to what gain? What may I ask would you do?

Agreed, my fight or support with government has for the most part always been local and I always vote to kick out homesteaders making a career out of Government and this is especially true when it comes to Judges, regardless of performance or party affiliation.

I do not believe the kneeling during the National Anthem will get the same results or effect as 1 Dec 1955 did.

If citizens truly want change within the Police departments the citizens need to change this appointed position into an elected position, 4 year term maybe. Never agreed with a Mayor or government body appointing the Chief of police, to much room for corruption and quid pro quo and many examples are out there.

It was about the fact that they feel there IS a growing racial divide in this country, and also a growing class divide in this country. They fell many are being left behind, or not adequately represented. You have a leadership that is out of touch, so you make your voice heard when you feel that the leadership of your country is out of touch.

Correct me if I'm wrong but it seems there were white players taking a knee too. I was referring to all footballers etc , but you knew that, it was just another chance for you to throw out the race card. Bad form.

I won't watch another NFL game until all of this BS has been ended and apologized for. There, that's me exercising my freedom of speech.

still didn't explain why they chose the time of the anthem to stage their protest it could have been done at any other time of the game if it wasn't about the flag or the anthem

Advertisers know exactly who and how many are watching anything they sponsor and as fans walk away from the NFL they will too.
