Indeed. It's all about I, me and mine with you, is it not?

You clearly are not interested in the Olympics for sport but for perceived US glory. What a pity, because when it's all over the US will still be in the same parlous state that it is now, mainly starting wars for industry profit.

And those profits are soooo sweet. However, we do enjoy taking a few weeks off from global domination from time to time to catch an athletic contest.

Welcome to the world of sports, particulary the Olympics, where people tend to root on their country of origin. I understand as a Canadian you have nothing to cheer for, so if you'd like you have my permission to
piggy back off of American glory.

What's wrong with your torn face these days, K, spirit of the Olympics and all that...

...double click the pic to view the video of Honduras second goal against Maroc (Morocco to you)

We had a brilliant time at the Olympic footie, everyone was loving it and supporting both teams in both games. Except the Japanese, as their team beat Spain in the second game.

    Can't wait for the semi-final.

Since you understand me as a Canadian, the remainder of your post is as ignorant as that part.

You think profits come from the Olympics? Where have you been living all your life. Oh! Of course - America.

    Enough said.

Never mind Beever, it all went well. I missed the opening ceremony, being away for the weekend, but watched some of it just now and it looked good.

I watched it live. I fully understand why NBC chose not to broadcast it in the same manner. It would give too many Americans a glimpse of a life somewhere else and they don't really want that known or people might not continue to believe in the American dream.

Olympic spirit ignored, thread trashed by stupid overbearing yanks.:megaphone::flagus:

Do you know these are just games and everyone else is enjoying the cultural exchange except..you lot.

Really they shouldn't invite such loudmouths. It's not what the games is about.

...based just on what's been posted in this thread, do you really think they have the equipment to detect that even with great big massive pointers....

Wtf are you talking about? You claimed we start wars for industry profit, I responded by agreeing and said those said profits are sweet. Understand now, Canadian? Get the maple syrup off your brain and pay attention.

Athletes don't train their entire lives to enjoy "cultural exchanges". Countries don't invest billions of dollars in these athletes for "cultural exchanges". I can assure you I'm far more traveled in my 30 years on this earth than you, and I don't watch the Olympics to see cute little cultural outfits, hear tired stories about some athlete growing up in poverty in a 3rd world nation, or to get a warm fuzzy feeling from seeing this or that.

I watch it for one reason only, and that's to see athletes from America compete and win the worlds biggest stage.

Phelps is looking like all those who said he fell off were right. When they put that yellow line in for the records which he set, and compare them to where he is at now, that dude should have retired. It is like watching Montana on the Chiefs, or Jordan on the Wizards.......or Manning on the Broncos. Hahaha(cheap shot prediction, but don't care...Chargers fan).

I don't see you praising any other countries in these games... You can talk the talk, but apparently you can't walk the walk.

You agreed with me? An American agreed with me?

    My most humble apologies.

The remaining dregs of the maple syrup are in the post. I trust US Customs don't charge on used items.
