Yea I am an embedded software engineer. What makes embedded software engineering so exciting is the tight timing requirements. If embedded software does not act on certain inputs within a few milliseconds, it can result in all kinds of death and mayhem. This of course creates a priority stack and careful consideration must be given as to which external inputs are absolutely time critical and need immediate service and which can preempted. Generally the software I create is quite small, on the order of 200,000 lines of source code (including comments). What is so great about this small size is that I get to write every line of code myself. I would never consider being part of a large design team where I only got to develop a tiny part of the overall product.... that would be horrible.

Guerrilla is good but gorilla sounds better to me. When I think of gorilla I think of incredible power. When I think of guerrilla, I think of destructive power. I am creative and not destructive.

The Governor is an elected official who presides over close to 9 million people, while the woman does not have such power.

I care more about govt officials than a small town news reporter.

Nice - I've developed applications for about five sectors over the course of my career, including the financial sector for a major bank. Messing up people's money can also cause death and mayhem, lol. Fortunately, I've never had that problem. I'm a full stack developer who likes JEE on the middle tier but the trend is go move towards Go for certain projects. So, I've used that, too. I love Angular on the front end. I've worked in Silicon Valley for some big companies but I'd never want to live on the West Coast, so this required frequent travel. I like a fully agile environment with a lot of stakeholder interaction and the full SDLC, including design. Fortunately, I have never been out of work for long and I keep my certifications current. One day I'll call myself a code guru. I'll leave gorilla and guerrilla alone. Nice explanations for the phrases.

We can't control what happened a long time ago. I'm part Irish, German, Italian and Armenian. 3 of those ethnicities had a rough time, two in this country and one overseas. The Germans did some pretty nasty stuff, but how the hell do I get blamed for it?
