Abortion wasn't a huge issue then. Societal suicide was. The Jews actually did a good job at more than once. Titus and his boys did a job on Roman Judea a few years later and for practical purposes the Jewish kingdom ceased to exist.

 

As this thread illustrates, conservatives on this board spend their days doing the same thing over and over, making endless threads about how awful the liberals are. The same commenters roboticly make the same comments over and over about how much they hate the liberals. No thought required, so it's right up their alley.

You don't see the same from liberals here. Sure, there a few such I-hate-the-opposition threads, but not nearly as many as the conservatives makes. For the most part, the liberals talk about issues, while the conservatives scream about how much they hate the liberals for talking about issues.

So why do conservatives focus on hysterics instead of substance?

First, most conservatives are helpless at debate, and at some level, they know it. Thus, they deflect from honest debate by constantly screaming insults.

Second, engaging in a group two-minutes-hate for several hours each day is a way for conservatives to reinforce their tribal identity. Without the identify politics of White Christian victimhood, the Republican party disintegrates, hence conservatives have to keep their identity politics cranked up to "11".

Third, conservatives tend to be authoritarian-follower personality types. Conservative political leaders deliberately keep their base terrified in order to keep them obedient. The thoroughly whupped conservative base will now say and do whatever they're told, without ever questioning it. Currently, their masters are telling them to go into hysterical meltdowns concerning how much they hate those awful liberals.

 

No, it isn't. And if it were, Trump splits with reality on at least a weekly basis. Is Trump schizophrenic? No.

I think you need a definitive definition of “liberal” first. I’ve seen it flung about as a self-identification, label and often insult but nobody using it has yet been willing or able to give me a clear definition. Surely the good doctor wrote a definition in his book you could reference.

So how many people do you think are “true believers” in the exact same form of government that killed millions of its own citizens? Or do you think there might just be a whole lot of people like Buffett who find individual aspects of the policy as desirable?

 

Liberalism believes in magical big government. This means primarily taxes, welfare and an attack on the traditional family.

 

I think all liberals believe that the form of liberal socialism that killed 120 million is not the form that they would use. The point is they would try to do better and end up killing 150 million instead because the concept of liberal socialist government Is contrary to natural law which our country is based on.

But none of them support the progressive agenda of fundamentally transforming the United States of America under single party rule, et al. Trump splits from reality all of the time -- he invents millions of illegal voters, lies about thousands of people in NJ celebrating on the streets for 9/11, claiming his inauguration crowd size was bigger than Obama's, claiming the parents of Korean War soldiers asked him to retrieve the remains of their children, hanging fake Time magazine cover photos, lying about being a top student at his business school, lying about his own claims such as his support for the invasion of Libya and his claim that American wages are too hight, etc. etc.

Claiming Trump is a "clear-eyed realistic thinker" is as divorced from reality as claiming that Hillary Clinton would make a great tech security consultant or that Billo would make a good marriage counselor.
