I care about fair and decent treatment of all people. Somebody must speak up for them. Why shouldn't that "somebody" be me?

Let Lesbians and Gay Men be and keep your patronising Great White Father B.S. to yourself, it is quite unwanted and unasked for, thank you very much.

Not what he said at all. One does not have the desire to have any sex, straight or gay until they hit adolescence. It is then that whatever attraction they will have surfaces. It's not a choice. However you are correct that it is a choice on how people have sex. One can choose to have sex opposite their attraction. But it is the attraction that determines one's sexual orientation, not their choices. Mind you their choices usually indicate their attraction, but it is not a guarantee.

What is no different? Being straight or gay? It is quite different from being a smoker. That is a choice. Being addicted to something isn't you choose to be a drug user but not a drug abuser. Granted one choice leads to the other, but not all get addicted to things.

you aware of people who "were gay" but then decided that it was wrong and went back to a normal sexual lifestyle? If I'm not mistaken, wasn't "Ellen's" one-time girlfriend now back to being straight?

Those who have smoked cigarettes for many years will insist that they cannot quit. Despite knwoing that it's wrong, it's become such a habit that smokers believe it's part of them. Engaging in gay sex is no different. If we would stop trying to convince people that choosing the gay lifestyle is acceptable, we could then focus on helping those who have made a bad lifestyle decision.

Cross-dressers are no different. We must stop trying to normalize it and treat the mental illness for what it is. There was a time when lobotomy was performed to treat certain mental illnesses. Why do we think that a lopmydickoffme or addadicktome surgery is any different?

and of course you know that your sexual attraction to other males doesn't make you gay, as long as you don't act on it. Really, it doesn't. Lol

The Democratic Party is at war with free will, demanding everyone be mindless as fruit flies and as submissive as slaves, existing solely to serve as worker bees for the super rich and super powerful.

It a person has NO capacity to define or regulate what s/he finds attractive or repulsive is a justification for racism and bigotry. I disagree - and I disagree with so-called "gay activists" who furiously demand that homosexuality is an inherent birth defect as they claim it is.

Well, at least you speak for yourself. But it's pretty self-centered.

There are those who are gay who, believing it wrong, either abstain or attempt to live life against their attractions. Again, action is not a guaranteed indicator of attraction. Some people, just like those who are gay and think they are straight, are straight but were somehow convinced they were gay. And just to throw further confusion on some people, since bisexual is a possibility, but even among the homosexual community they are told to pick a side, try to live one or the other. Not sure what the deal with this girlfriend was. Maybe she was bi and the next person she went to after Ellen just happened to be male. Why did you put her name in quotes?

It is the anti gay who claim it as a birth defect. Pro LBGT claim it is not any more unusual as left handedness, which was at one time viewed as a birth defect, or even an unnatural choice.

Bisexuals? Yes of course they exist.

I know very little about that.

again being heterosexual is like smoking cigarettes I don't agree.

not sure why you started talking about this but okay.

We don't have bottom eyes people anymore because it doesn't treat anything we also don't burn witches at the stake or hold slaves if you want to live like that move to Iraq.

No, not myself, but many others that do not want to feed off crumbs that fall from anyone elses table.
You trivialize and marginalize by means of damning with faint praise, nobody has ever wanted.

Are you speaking for gays? I'm looking for a confirmation because it is in fact what you have tried to do here. So are you?

And your approach seems to be to ignore differences, thus sweeping the discrimination under the rug to persist unchallenged.

It sounds stupid because the LGBT crowd would have us believe that gender IS a choice.

No, Gender is not a choice or simply a so called lifestyle, for those that are, it is hardwired behaviours.

That is incorrect. It's that gender is not automatically tied to the physical sex.

Do you think making **** up and pretending it’s the other sides argument is productive?

I responded before about the second part, but reading back I realized I had not addressed the first part.

First, every one has some bigotry in them on one issue or another. Bigotry is not just limited to issues of race, sexuality, or religion.

So bigotry can exist towards television shows, or books, towards topics such as science. Hell, by definition there is a lot of bigotry being shown over the global warming issue.

Secondly, one can consider an entire race ugly and still not be racist. Racism is the belief in the inherent superiority of a single race above all others or the inherent inferiority of a given race above all others. Believing that a single aspect of a race, such as beauty, which is a subjective value to begin with, is superior or inferior, does not in and of itself indicate that one feels all aspects of that race are inferior or superior. Additionally one can stereotype a race without being racist. Claiming that blacks can't swim, would be a stereotype, not racism. Furthermore, some racial issues are simple fact not racism. Blacks are far more prone to sickle cell anemia than any other race.

Last, but not least, and most importantly, the lack of ability to control what one finds attractive or repulsive, has nothing to do with their control on how they react to such things.

I personally don't take any real issue with conversion therapy. Some people that are gay just can't deal with it it's not easy and especially if you belong to a religious family. I take a no issue with ex gay people. I believe in the philosophy of live and let live.

I however think that just like transition therapy can be abusive so can conversion therapy for children.

So I agree with making it illegal to practice this so-called therapy on children. But then I think hormone therapy and other therapies that have harmful side effects should not be foisted on children. I will go as far as to say that I think veganism forced on children is abusive.

I don't people should use their children as a means to push a political agenda.

I disagree gender s absolutely tied to physical sex. That is only if gender is a concrete concept that doesn't simply depend on the whims of the people expressing it.

If it is based on a fundamental principle then that principle would be that men and women are fundamentally different and not just because of the role in the reproduction of offspring. But too because of secondary sexual characteristics.

Before you get carried away listing all the outliers that you can think of as if that undermines the principal that doesn't. If you can have a masculine woman the fact that you would just consider her masculine wood mean that it does not undermine the concept.

Now if it's based on how a person feels are when a person wears gender is meaningless and any discussion on it is gridlocked because it means different things to different people and we can't agree on terms.

Lack of any 'tests' that confirms humans are born as homosexual doesn't necessarily mean that isn't the case. It could mean that a 'test' hasn't yet been developed. But that/those so-called 'test(s) argument is just one that some folks and the Christian/Religious Right love trot out as some sort of 'proof' that one's sexuality is a 'choice'.

ahh, the old prove a negative concept.

You just went ahead and asserted that one is born homosexual. Please provide the medical test which confirms that. Or, is it simply your belief?
