I think we, those of us who were old enough for it to affect us, had come to grips with it, we were attacked by Islamic terrorist hellbent on bringing down western civilization and instill worldwide Sharia law. I see two issues. The first was demonstrated by some man in the street interviews and reporting of what is actually taking place in our education system and that being 9/11 being underplayed and certainly not calling for what it was as I described. The second which is part is a product of the first we no longer have the resolve to do anything about it and confront and stop from doing what it wants to do. We have the writtings of one of the Taliban leaders to OBL telling him that their cause does not have to defeat the United States, it just has to wait them out and they will quit, they will give into demands to stop fighting and slowly as the Koran teaches they will dominate the world. Biden just change that course dramatically in their favor. So the real question now is where will be we after the NEXT twenty years.

Todd: Someone announced from the cockpit that there was a bomb on board. He said he was the captain and to stay in our seats and stay quiet. He said that they were meeting these men’s demands and returning to the airport… It was very broken English, and… I’m telling you…it sounded fake! Lisa: Ok sir, please give me your name. Todd: My name is Todd Beamer. Lisa: Ok Todd….my name is Lisa…Do you know your flight number? If you can’t remember, it’s on your ticket. Todd: It’s United Flight 93. Lisa: Now Todd, can you try to tell me exactly what happened? Todd: Two of the hijackers were sitting in first class near the cockpit. A third one was sitting near the back of the coach section. The two up. front got into the cockpit somehow; there was shouting. The third hijacker said he had a bomb. It looks like a bomb. He’s got it tied to his waist with a red belt of some kind. Lisa: So is the door to the cockpit open? Todd: No, the hijackers shut it behind them. Lisa: Has anyone been injured? Todd: Yes, ..they…they killed one passenger sitting in first class. There’s been lots of shouting. We don’t know if the pilots are dead or alive. A flight attendant told me that the pilot and copilot had been forced from the cockpit and may have been wounded. Lisa: Where is the 3rd hijacker now Todd? Todd: He’s near the back of the plane. They forced most of the passengers into first class. There are fourteen of us here in the back. Five are flight attendants. He hasn’t noticed that I slipped into this pantry to get the phone. The guy with the bomb ordered us to sit on the floor in the rear of the plane……….oh Jesus.. Help! How did the Nazi's take over Germany when they started as a small number with fundamentalist extremist beliefs. Threats, intimidation, murder, torture, civil process replaced with expediency, a people who felt oppressed and they would raise them back to where they believed they belong historically. It doesn't take religious fundamentalism to drive a people but I would postulate it makes it even stronger.

Even more alarming is the creation of offical "facts" by politicians and special interests groups, that don't align with science.
Oh, and how are we defining "science"? Science doesn't automatically eliminate controversy and self-bias, you know. There are many political questions that can't be answered through a table top experiment. One person's science may tell us something different than someone else's science. It's not that they conflict, but they may be telling us two opposite things.
That so very many do not believe that humans have an influence on climate change shows how much influence politicians and special interests have. It's crazy how willfully ignorant people can be about things that don't line up with their political dogma, no matter how much evidence is piled against them. I'm sure there are other examples of this as well, but the climate change issue is the most obvious one. Hell, there are a large number of people here that don't even think that evolution is a thing. Quite bizarre.
I would agree it's an example of biased science, but in the opposite way you do. There's tons of evidence either way. Normal people are mostly not qualified to sort through all that evidence. Instead we just rely on someone else's interpretation and opinion.
Well, I'm in my 4th year working on my degree in wildlife ecology. I have seen a whole heap of evidence in that time supporting man made climate change, and very little against it. Moose up here are being torn apart by ticks for example, in areas where just a short while ago there were none. Habitat zones are changing way beyond the rate they should be changing if this were just the normal climate change cycles that the earth has always gone through in the last 65 million years. Not just a little bit faster, but degrees of magnitude faster. Evolution is having a hard time keeping up, leading to species going extinct at a rate hundreds of times faster than they ever have in the past except during the mass extinction events like when the dinosaurs died out. I don't know about you, but I would rather not be involved in the next great extinction event, though that is exactly what we are causing.
Where have you been looking? I hope this isn't a "My school showed me lots of evidence of climate change" argument. In statistics, that's something called a possible selection bias. Anyway, we are getting very off topic in this thread.

In the olden days, colleges taught that the absence of evidence is not evidence of absence. We would be lambasted by our Profs for saying things like that.
