The job of the Secret Service, among other things is to see to the security of the president. I didn't see Trump putting up the fences. Did you? Are you angry at the Secret Service for doing their job?

There were no federal forces deployed in Washington. Those troops were national guard sent by state governors. It is illegal to deploy federal military on U.S. soil.

It is in no wise illegal to deploy the regular military on US soil. Been done four times in the past.

Correct, no regular military were posted in Washington, just posted on standby nearby as a last resort if things had turned out worse than expected. Completely legal, and a very wise thing to do.
