Ban bump stocks?

Well..
WTF are you going to do about all the bumpstocks that are out there once you "ban" them?
Do you want to practice your confiscation fantasy?

I guess only criminals should have bumpstocks..

 

You can bump fire with a rubber band, or a string, or a belt loop, or nothing at all. You can bump fire almost any semi-auto rifle or handgun. I've seen people bump fire an M1A bench rest shooting, no string or rubber band or anything.

 

Now the next millionaire pilot who wants to bump fire his weapon will be unable to do so!

I don't see a reason that man could not have gotten true full autos if he wished..

I see, so you want to send men with guns to kidnap people because police found a simple-shaped plastic part that could be used to modify the functional operation of certain types of guns a little bit. This is the type of thing a Chinese toy company could make for a nickel.

And then, once a felon, oh how convenient, you'll take away all their rights from them.

 

But they don't violate the letter of the law, which is what really matters. Ban them with a new law. Don't ban them by executive action. Overreaching executive action is the start of tyranny.

 

That's why I voted against Trump twice. I figured he would be weak on gun rights.

 

This item was used only in one shooting so I do not know if we need the law. But to be honest banning bump stocks would mean absolutely nothing, they are gimmicky upgrades that are just as likely to jam your gun as to increase the speed of firing it. Basically all we would be doing is trying to put a company out of business in order to feel good about ourselves and pretend like we did "something."
