I agree. I dont think there is anything wrong with GMOs, but I do think the general public has a right to know, just like an ingredients list.

Without GMOs the world's farms would produce 1/3rd less than they do now. And the yields would be more unreliable.

We are over populated. Human sprawl is the #1 cause of the human component of climate change.

That's like saying if all the cattle died everyone would starve to death despite all of the potatoes lying around.

In a way, it is. The famines arent going to affect the 1st world or rich farming countries, at least not right away. The farming countries will have plenty for themselves, just not enough to ship to Asia and Africa, and S. America.

Hmmmm .... Russia has been growing its agricultural sector while having a ban on GMO. Agricultural products are now 4th in terms of exports for Russia and it aims to be the world leader in organic produce.

'republicans' arent anti-GMO, just 'alt-right conspiracy theorist nutjobs.' What used to just be 'hippy' is now as much 'anti-establishment' too.

Mandated GMO labelling would be nice, but these days waryness of it is popular enough that non-GMO labelling is profitable, and anything not labelled can be reliably presumed to be GMO. Similar effect acheived.

On the other hand, Bayer did make the chemical used in the showers of concentration camps to kill Jews. So, I don't know what to say.

I don't see the problem. Asians, Africans, and South Americans have their own food. Rats, dogs, cats, snakes, grasshoppers, guinea pigs, kassava, etc. That's the "potatoes" I was speaking about and it's in abundance.

Yet there is zero scientific evidence for the anecdotal stories being used to sue. Asking the court to judge science is stupid.

It’s not my theory. It’s reality.

No. You said, "The ban on ddt has resulted in ~ 30 million deaths".

    That is a theory.

I posted "Malaria sickened 225 million people and caused 781,000 deaths in 2009, according to the World Health Organization (WHO)"

    ... which is reality.

Now, if nearly a million deaths are due to malaria in one year even after re-introduction of DDT, then your theory of 30 million deaths over 35 years being due to the ban is just that; a theory and a flawed one at that.

It's reality as shown by the actions of environmentalists resulted in the needless deaths of tens of millions of people. Read the link. The statistics are there.

You are actually trying to argue that the data from one year proves anything at all ?? Do you know how malaria works and what is required to deploy DDT throughout the regions affected ??

my problem with it is if you gmo a apple for example, you may change the nutrient values... so people need to know

same with pink slim mixed with raw hamburger, put it on the label

the reason they do not tell us is they know we would not buy it, so they lie to us

it's all about profit.. not out health, so we need the details of what the food is so we can make informed decisions for ourselves.. if I wanted a hotdog I would buy one, if I want fresh hamburger, I buy that....

GMO's have never caused any health problems. Pink slim is not a GMO. Just about everything we eat now days has been genetically modified.

GMO's are all about increasing productivity at lower cost resulting in lower consumer prices. They also contribute to the economic growth of developing nations except that the morons who run the EU have banned them for political reasons having nothing to do with science.

never said pink slime was a GMO, I was referring to telling the consumer what they are really eating

and we do not yet know the long term effects of eating GMO

it's like seed oils, trans fat, ect... once we thought they had no health implications either

I have no issue with selling gmo food, just give the new gmo food a new name , if it's an apple, give it a new name so people know, it's a brand new type of apple, so it should have a new name

there is also copyright issues with regrowing the food and selling it, so people need to know it is against the law to plant the seeds without paying a royalty for it

if they do not label it and rename it, they should lose all copyright rights to it

edit : I think that shoud lbe patent vs copyright, not sure

that we know of, it took us years to figure out trans-fat was bad too

even if what you say is true today, doesn't mean it will be true down the road

You are trying to lay blame on 30 million deaths over a 34 year time span at the feet of environmentalists when the WHO data shows that, even with the use of DDT, nearly a million died in one year.

    You do the math.
