When you're constantly having to say I don't know to people and a Harvard education lawyer challenges you to a debate.

Conservative commentator Ben Shapiro challenged democratic socialist Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez to a debate, offering to donate $10,000 to her campaign if she accepted -- but it triggered a sparring match online.

Shapiro initially tweeted a video on Wednesday in which he mocked Democratic National Committee chairperson Tom Perez for calling Ocasio-Cortez, a New York congressional candidate, the “future of the Democratic Party,” before issuing his challenge.

“Miss Ocasio-Cortez, I’m really excited that you’ve been elevated to that position and I would love to have a real conversation with you about the issues. You’ve noted that you think Republicans are afraid to debate you or talk to you or discuss the issues with you,” Shapiro said.

“Not only am I eager to discuss the issues with you, I’m willing to offer $10,000 to your campaign, today, for you to come on our Sunday special,” he continued. “We can have an hour long conversation about all the topics under the sun, really probe your belief system.”

I'm not defending Socialism, but if Shapiro really wanted to debate it, there are plenty of more knowledgeable defenders than Ocasio-Cortez. So what he's really doing is going for an easy win.

What is wrong with Shapiro? Does he not realize he is getting involved with "Psycho Girlfriend"? There is no debating such a crazed lefty. Does he not know that if he debates her he will make her look incredibly foolish? Does he not know that after he soundly defeats her that he will wake up with a dead animal on his front lawn and his car will get keyed?

    Run away Ben! Run!

The woman might be smart and educated but she appears to be lacking in the real issues of the day. Lucky for her she's in a can't lose race, but eventually she'll have to debate her GOP opponent and it could be embarrassing.

What I'm seeing with this woman is she'll play the victim card when challenged.

But those plenty of more knowledgeable defenders are not looked upon as the Future of the Demo party. So he was looking to put on a demonstration wherein he can show all just how easy it is to humiliate their Future.

Kind of like a clinic.

Pretty ironic considering Shapiro has dodged every debate challenge offered up by Nicholas Fuentes and others who know exactly what Shapiro is and who he really represents. It’s not American conservatives, like he pretends.

Oh definitely. However, the dems aren't calling the more knowledgeable defenders "future of the Democratic Party". This train wreck makes Palin look like Stephen Hawking.

There should never be an easy win against a candidate for office.

I'm I the only one who sees the similarities in speaking ability between Cortez and Trump?

Interesting, so the “future of the Democratic Party”, according a Democratic National Committee chairperson, is an “easy win” according to you, on the issues. I guess the future of the Democratic Party is not really dependent on the issues? I wonder what else it could be based on?

You mean how Trump is brilliant at it and Cortez is painful to listen to?

Lefties love that she is a minority and female. They want her to keep her mouth shut until she can master the talking points and teleprompter reading skills....like obama the used car salesman.

You don't see the intellectual distinction between the two?

Not at all. As dumb as Cortez is - and she seems dead stupid, she's probably smarter than trump. And I'm saying that in all seriousness.

Look, if you can link to a single example of trump sounding intelligent, well-informed, and analytical I'd love to see it. What you need to understand is that propping up idiots like trump is what's making brain-dead radical leftists a real threat. We can't undo the mistake we made in the primaries but we NEED to run a competent conservative opposition in the next cycle. AND we need to ALL get behind him (or her). It may be our last chance to stave off the free loaders and ideological socialists.

*Shrug.* Yes. She’s young, inexperienced and not very well informed on the issues. That would be why that one guy called her the FUTURE of the party, not the present. And please note that was one guy’s opinion.

She speaks like a teen aged girl with all the ummm, like and ending every damn statement with inflection as if she's asking a question. Those are not traits of an up and coming intellectual, they are traits of an idiot (unless, of course, you are a teen-aged girl).

I don’t think we disagree. Except I’ll say that by simply speaking like the age and culture she is, it says nothing about whether she is an “up and coming intellectual.” It’s possible to be smart and still talk like your peers.

I think he was referring to the “brown face, free stuff” model that the Democratic Party has been building for half a century. You don’t really need experience or knowledge on issues when you hold those two cards in some areas.

I don't think we do either. I'll just say that I work with women in her age/race demographic and they still manage to sound professional - even, dare I say, knowledgeable. You're right though, sounding like an idiot is not incontrovertible evidence that one is an idiot.

You mean consistent, unlike your “I don’t defend socialism but let me defend this socialist and an increasingly socialist political party that I support” standpoints.

I think the party will force her to back out, Shapiro is sharp and he will run rings around her.
