Said no one ever on this board, you’re just making things up at this point.

    why?

Re-read what was said. How else can you interpret it?

Oh please. This was a premeditated publicity stunt. It was gross in every way given the tragic circumstances. What a pathetic POS beta is.

And the press conference wasn't? Did you see the number of people on that stage? And all they did was lie and make up stories. At least Beto was there to discuss what really happened!

No, I do not think it was a publicity stunt on Abbotts part. In fact, it is expected part of his job.
Beto was NOT there to discuss what really happened, he was there to win some political capital. It was disingenuous and disgusting.

You are one of the more rational posters around here, I'm honestly surprised on your take in this thread.

So.....how does that turn into "so that he doesn't have to do anything"?

Yes, it is an expected part of the job. And for that job you are expected to come prepared with facts and truth. There was neither. If they didn't have a handle on the situation at that point, they should have said that - rather than simply invent an encounter with a security officer that never happened?

If you take political bias out of the situation, you'll see that one was there to discuss what actually happened - and it wasn't Abbott. What is wrong with someone exercising their freedom of speech? If you watched after he left, there were citizens in attendance demanding he be given a chance to speak. And what was with the dude on the stage calling him a 'sick son of a bitch' and an '*******'? Is that now part of the press conference standard?

I did. You're just making up any conclusion you want with no logic involved. No one is expecting any since your claim bears no reality.

Then answer my question, but no one is expecting you to since you never have.

First off, beta had no idea what Abbott was going to say - he was there to grandstand for political gain. Full stop. There is NO other rational, objective way to view it. beta was going to use this tragedy to further his political ambitions. It was a calculated (and stupid imo) move). In my book, that is a perfect definition of a sick son ofa b****.

    you mean this question?

"Are you arguing that the Constitution gives people a "right" to go off on random killing sprees?"

It's a really, really stupid question. Why would anyone take such a trite question seriously? The Constitution says nothing about killing sprees, you just made this whole thing up and expect an adult to take that seriously.

Here's a dumb question to go along with that one, where in the Constitution does it say you cannot go on a wild killing spree? That's why no one answers you. You're not even trying, just emoting spastic cries for validation.

Of course to a liberal, not being a liberal is a red flag.

I am not at all confused that comparing a gun manufacturer (who sells to a wholesaler who sells to a retail gun store) to a bar that provides retail sales of alcohol is a false analogy. I don't think you are confused either. Just unable to respond with anything other than a snarky comment.

But perhaps you do not understand what a logical fallacy is, or why a false analogy is a fallacy.

Looking at the picture of Beta you posted, his facial expression reminds me of Fidel Castro. Just sayin.

You'll have to read the back and forth. He wanted to know why Republicans didn't personally do things that support people effected by their political views. He suggested a topic, the care and safety of children, and I gave him a list of the things I do. I asked him what he did. He said he doesn't have to do anything, he supports laws.

It's right in line with Beto's peacock display. "You're not giving me anything." It's not a lawmaker's job to give you things. It's a lawmaker's job to preserve and protect your responsibility and ability to act in the world. Beto wants the government to command people to act for him.

Sigh. Where in any of my response did I come anywhere close to saying that.

I am arguing your hatred for the NRA and republicans, rather than addressing mentally ill people is a ridiculous over simplification on par with blame knives for stabbings or cars for drunk drivers. It's the easy way out "ban gun!" because any deeper critical thinking and logical evaluation is apparently beyond your capabilities.

Elected officials DO have a responsibility to solve problems with transportation, electricity, safety, etc., etc.

In this case, the governor and the legislature are not addressing a very serious problem that has been well known to exist.

You can't argue with Beto about that. It's just a fact.

O'Rourke will do literally anything to insert himself into a discussion about firearm legislation.

    Idiot.

Well, you can since beta doesn't have any solutions and never has. He just chose to be a ***** at a press conference for political points. That said, most politicians will do anything to get their face in front of a camera.

First of all, Beto absolutely does have a documented direction on gun violence.

    And, Abbott doesn't.

There are those who see this as a very serious problem.

Yeah, beta thinks prohibition works and that’s why he’s an idiot. Anyone who thinks prohibition works has learned nothing from history. And is an idiot.

What is a "documented direction"? What is his exactly, ban guns? That's not gonna happen.
