Trump was waging war, from the White House, on The United States of America, on multiple fronts. On the advice of Mike Flynn he explored martial law as a means to overturn the election. And he tried to get the DOJ to declare our election corrupt so he and his Republican chronies could execute a political coup. January 6th was a desperate last ditch effort to somehow effect a coup.

 

The fact is, though, Benedict Donald tried to effect a coup on three fronts; militarily, politically and down and dirty insurrection. Thank god none of it worked.

Agreed. While it's hard to say what a mandate might be, I think we can safely conclude the 2020 election provided no mandate at the federal level. IMO, the last mandate was the 1984 election.
