Trump can consider the 2nd a partial win. Congress will not get his returns before the elections BUT it has been sent back to a court that has already ruled against him with review instructions, ie the case is still alive in the event he should still be in office next year.

The other aspect is that while the NY grand jury is secret if it's vote to send the case to trial then his financials can be used in open court.

There is nothing in Trump's tax records that will help the DP. Surely you know that by now.

Of course they don't know that by now. They wouldn't know a Schedule C or D if it bit them on the ass. The only thing they "know" about income taxes, having paid little or any of them, is that some nebulous quantity of "the rich" don't pay "enough" of them or any at all. Most of them here don't even file in the U.S. and I doubt they have "income taxes" in the CCP, LOL. They are just parroting the day's "talking points."

And you arrive at that conclusion because...................? Have you read the NYT expose on the fraud perpetrated by Don and his family? The one Mary Trump provided documentation for.

Addiction to Fake News tends to bend the minds of the addicts.
The still think left has been trying to warn them for years.
But do they listen? Of course not.

As pleased as I am that NY will get Don's returns the SC has dealt another blow to the oversight power of Congress with the potential to make future prez's immune from congressional investigations in to wrongdoing. It's enormously dangerous in the event we get another prez like Trump who stonewalls any effort by Congress to get information about illegal behavior or abuses of power.

The IRS has had Trump's tax records for years.
If there was anything at all in those records that would hurt Trump it would have leaked in October of 2016. Think.

And yet, the NYT has documented evidence of fraudulent tax schemes he engaged in. After promising to release his taxes he has steadfastly refused. Why? Think.

And yet, the Grand Inquisitor has documented evidence of the accused, whose family has been embroiled in a feud with the Grand Inquisitor's family for decades, frolicking at Black Sabbats!

    Yeah. that's credible.

In the overwhelming prevailing partisan lie MSM and lying gov-edu-union-contractor-grantee-trial lawyer-MSM Complex propaganda machine, ANY attorney who counseled Trump to release ANY extraneous data, tax returns or ANYTHING ELSE, not required by statute or a court order BEFORE ALL measures were taken to prevent such release, should be, and maybe could be disbarred for gross negligence, certainly instantly and successfully sued by the client.

By now everyone knows that NYT = MSM = Fake News.

"The headline on a hotly shared New York Times story now reads: “State Department Spent $52,701 on Curtains for Nikki Haley’s Residence.”

Sounds like a lot of money for curtains, right?

Indeed. But that headline is a far less clicky version than the one it replaced, which stoked a great deal of outrage online. It read, “Nikki Haley’s View of New York Is Priceless. Her Curtains? $52,701.” Based on that presentation, someone might just conclude that Haley herself charged taxpayers big money for the curtains on her government-provided digs in New York. She is the U.S. ambassador to the United Nations, a Trump administration appointee.

Lo and behold, people did reach that very conclusion:

    Dear Nikki Haley,
There are starving children in America everyday and you have the audacity to misappropriate thousands of tax dollars for your own lavish lifestyle. Resign immediately
    sincerely,
    America https://t.co/j9h5t50GPb

Yesssssssss . . . and the fact that while Obama controlled the IRS and yet still they found nothing over which to put Trump in prison means nothing to the political Left? Of course if the Supreme Court does rule in favor of the political Left then that means that all of Nancy Pelosi's and Adam Schiff's financial records are also subject to total public scrutiny . . . as well as Barack Obama's. How clean were his hands when he exited the Oval Office and instantly became worth a minimum of forty million dollars? Come on Supreme Court. There's some investigations of corrupt political leftists to get after!

Even the NYT's editors have admitted that the NYT = Fake News.

"Jill Abramson, who was the top news executive at the Gray Lady from 2011 to 2014, writes in “Merchants of Truth” that the biased coverage of her successor Dean Baquet is hurting the newspaper’s credibility.

“Though Baquet said publicly he didn’t want the Times to be the opposition party, his news pages were unmistakably anti-Trump,” writes Abramson, who also faults the Washington Post for its reporting. “Some headlines contained raw opinion, as did some of the stories that were labeled as news analysis.”

She said the coverage of Trump conflicts with the principles espoused by former Times publisher Adolph Ochs in 1896 to report the news impartially “without fear or favor.”

“The more anti-Trump the Times was perceived to be, the more it was mistrusted for being biased. Ochs’s vow to cover the news without fear or favor sounded like an impossible promise in such a polarized environment,” Abramson writes in the book."

Man, I was looking forward to every president from Trump to the end of the US to be investigated and for the DoJ to complete counter investigations on all of Congress.

I REALLY wanted to see Biden investigated too!

    That would be excellent!

Yes, I get that. The "fake news" meme often comes to your rescue when it is convenient to ignore the facts.

Yes, and along similar lines a former president of CBS admitted last month that the big three broadcast networks have gradually drifted so far Left in their political ideology that it is now financially impossible for them to return to anything meaningfully near the political Center in their news coverage or editorializing and stay in business. They literally trapped themselves into being wedded to the far Left's radicalized ideology, come what may.

Do you believe that a grand jury must follow the law to ask for documents, or do you believe in the pejorative power to request without cause, just to see them? And while I believe the SCOTUS is going to F this up and grant these requests, I don't think it is either the right thing to do, or a moral one to allow. Frankly, it opens a door that I am positive you won't like, but aren't thinking of the long term consequences of here.

I am sorry you feel that way. Since the Chinese virus and the economy are closely tied together, what exactly did you expect the President to do? Remember now everything you say is in retrospect.
I would love to have you pretend this all just started yesterday.
    1. Trump locks everything down for months and totally destroys the economy you say he does not care about?
    or
    2. Trump does nothing and allows the economy to continue on an upward path and ignores the Chinese virus?
    or
    3. Trump tries to walk the tightrope and manage both as best as possible in an attempt to keep as much running as possible?

Hopefully, Rachel Mancow will have another year of Trump's tax returns in her hand tonight.

There's a word for lying to the IRS about your financial status. It's called tax fraud. There's a word for lying to banks about your financial status. It's called bank fraud. There's a word for lying to investors about your financial status . . . starting to see a pattern here?

yes, but once people know what he reported, they can tell what they know, then the IRS can investigate

what is it Trump fears about his taxes being known

sounds like the IRS should talk to his family....

    4. Trump helps coordinate between the states for needed supplies and encourages an aggressive testing/case tracking campaign and, at a bare minimum, just refrains from lying about anything involving this topic for a few months.

You are aware that people can have opinions about more than one thing . . . right?

I'm going to go out on a limb here and says that MAYBE, just MAYBE, you've shared some opinions in the past few weeks on topics less serious than the pandemic.

I happen to find limitations on Executive power rather important, and it doesn't stop me from having concerns about other things. Surely you are aware that this is a skill most people possess.
