I am most concerned that our over-use of antibiotics is breading super bugs. There is also the possibility that some idiot will actually weaponize and use them. We have some domestic terrorist groups who appear to be working on that in preparation for RaHoWa.
If religion is the biggest threat to civilisation you must not forget that this includes (invisible) ideology. When a majority of voters is going to cast their vote on 'their' leader, than this can be called a 'religion' (a majority of the population that believe in 'their' leader (this majority can even see this person as some sort of messiah, masses are worshipping this One great leader), because 'he' is doing a very good job in their eyes, they trust him completely) Worshippping out of trust (and this via a television screen is this technological time. Propaganda and the invisible organisation of people is the biggest threat to civilisation. So you can say that television is the biggest threat to civilisation (because it is doing the mind 'control' / change (example; commercials work, because most people don't notice, it an unconsious process) That is, the sum of; propaganda, politics (that use ideology and lots of terminology) people's minds can be changed (it's called 'social engineering'), are labeled, so they are psychologically lined up / organized) Organisation via politics by ideology/propaganda (which leads to war eventually, it did so in the last century) is what is going to be the biggest threat to civilisation (even within a couple of years? because this process is going on for decades, and since y2k has speeded up, because the maximum propaganda that is going on, via the media, and also online. Because there are millions of people that can see lots of strange things going on, one after the other over the past twelve years, so they start to resist/fight that, but they don't notice this is also organizing them too, because it always goes through politics. Our own organisation is what we can't see, because it's nature/natural. We can't see we are behaving (as a group) the same as an animal herd or an ant colony. Mass organisation; Germany (1940-'45) and North Korea (1945-present) are the two clearest examples/proofs of history were absolute organisation happened (and hardly any of these people noticed their organisation) Two nations five thousand miles apart and the same mass organisation occured. Even if a majority cast their vote on a 'moderate' politician/leader their organisation is going on. Yesterday this happened in Iran, now Iran has got a 'moderate' leader, so now everything is ok right? No, because a majority gave up their power and are invisibly organised behind this leader, millions are going to listen to this leader and believe in him when things start to improve.

The biggest threat to civilization is all around us, has been the primary source of more death (especially recently), is insidious and extremely hard to defeat, causes a deep seated insanity, spreads as rapidly as a virus, and will likely keep killing many people for quite some time. It lies at the root of much suffering, hatred, brutality, and warfare the world sees daily. Guess what it is...........
Islam. My end-game fear is that Iran learned enough while helping North Korea that they can start producing 5 or 10 warheads a year. A few years into it, I figure they start selling them to Al Qaida; who then puts them on boats and sets sail for DC, NYC, Boston, SF, Miami, and LA. After killing 25 million or more Americans; we retaliate by wiping out Iran completely and possibly Russia because we get leads indicating they helped with the technologies. After that, all bets are off and it becomes a global wipeout. If religion magically fixes it's idiocies; then I still worry about a human-caused extinction event. There is a small one going on now; but if that continues down the road another few hundred years there could be nothing left of animals and vegetation beyond what we eat.
