I had to vote for Kim Kardashian, not because it is a 'funny' option at all, but because it is a symptom of something much wider, and more serious. I think the biggest real threat to civilisation at the moment is the 'dumbing down' of the world through the media, soundbite and celebrity culture. It's breeding the whole 'politics is boring', and 'reading is boring' and 'I don't care about any of that serious stuff' attitude that is effecting so many people in the 'civilised' world, and that is resulting in a poorly informed electorate, poor electoral turnouts, and the consequent possibilities for large special interest groups (including corporate groups) to gain effective power and influence over peoples and governments. When most of the population care more about which celebrity is in bed with which other celebrity, or who is going to win X Factor, or whatever, than they do about how their country is being run, and what is going on in the real world of peoples' lives, there is something going seriously wrong somewhere.
Hey, Screw all Nazi jerkwads. Complaining that we aren't diverting resources from the poor and sick for the most worthless people on Earth (ie, Nazis) isn't whining. It's the patriotic duty of any citizen of any country not already in History's (*)(*)(*)(*)hole for thinking it's better than the rest of the world already.
Sometimes, though, I think it's why the caveman days lasted so long. (We've been fully intelligent just-like-us human beings for at LEAST 35,000 years. Why is civilization only 10,000 years old at the outside and REAL civilization like, hell, in the last 100 or so?). I know, I know, war, famine, disease, man's inhumanity to man, they're all factors, and religion can HELP in those areas. Fine, but my problem is that when you scratch most really religious people I've known you find a full-blown hell and brimstone fanatic just waiting to burn some heretics far more often than you do a saint that wants to help humanity. Mind, I've seen some of them with eugenic technocrats too, but they're a small minority, marginalized and discredited, not often seemingly the dominant faction
Kim Kardashian, no doubt! Assuming, of course, that KK stands for the idiocy, immorality, and arrogance of the American people in supporting a dictatorial State in lieu of the liberty their forefathers died en masse to protect.
