This reporting was done last week.
Trump’s lawyers, Senate GOP allies work privately to ensure Bolton does not testify publicly
    https://www.washingtonpost.com/poli...c67ef0-3bae-11ea-8872-5df698785a4e_story.html

"President Trump’s legal defense team and Senate GOP allies are quietly gaming out contingency plans should Democrats win enough votes to force witnesses to testify in the impeachment trial, including an effort to keep former national security adviser John Bolton from the spotlight, according to multiple officials familiar with the discussions."
    ..............................................................................................................................
Team Turd's efforts make all the more sense now that we know what Bolton will testify to............if he's allowed to testify.

The whole problem here is that Trump has denied a quid pro quo. If he did it, so f what??? He should just say - so what. The president’s duty is to try to address corruption. Joe biden threatened ukraine with no aid unless ukraine fired prosecutor looking into corruption by a company where joe’s son was a board member. Is joe biden above the law? His son making millions in a corrupt company and joe gets him off the hook by threatening no aid to country??

we can criticize this but impeachable it is not. This is not remotely a reason to impeach, former presidents have done much worse and never impeached. There is nothing here but trump has probably made the mistake of listening to his team. I know he would’ve loved to say ‘yes, i asked ukraine to look in lnto corruption involving biden, SO WHAT???’ But now, if what they say about bolton is true.. they have to backpeddle. Trump will not be removed from office so this bolton thing is just a way to extend the circus show.

The problem is that asking another country to look into corruption involving very very corrupt like behavior (political rival or not) is NOTHING!!! Trump should’ve just stated ‘so what!!!!’

Your own post has 2 different accounts of what Bolton states. One account Bolton states withholding and another Bolton states delay. That’s a big difference, but that’s what is being argued in Washington as we speak.

The easiest thing to do is simply put Bolton, Mulvaney, Pompeo under oath and even the President if he wants (Yes, that is a joke) and finally get the truth.

What could it hurt? Yeah. That’s a rhetorical question.

uh..... the Ukraine got the money and the US,Trump got nothing in return. The president of the Ukraine has repeatedly said that there was no pressure, no quid pro quo. For all we know, Bolton's statement may not exist as quoted and was taken out of context. Also if Bolton made such a statement, it cannot be proved or taken as evidence except in the crazed minds of those who have been wetting themselves over it. Bolton does have an axe to grind and as such that would make him a hostile witness. This is a tempest in a teapot.

How many times must you be reminded he was extorting Ukraine for his personal, political benefit. Only Trumpette's refuse to acknowledge this fact.

"WASHINGTON — President Trump directly tied the withholding of almost $400 million in American security aid to investigations that he sought from Ukrainian officials, according to an unpublished manuscript of a book that John R. Bolton, Mr. Trump’s former national security adviser, wrote about his time in the White House."

I know. You agreed with Bolton that we should bomb Iran into the stone age and like Bolton hated that Trump didn't want to go that route and fired the war monger. Today is the first day in 3 years that progressive fascists learned to love Bolton. Sadly, thoughts like wanting to hold back aid aren't impeachable. Asserting executive privilege first asserted by George Washington is not impeachable.

    Of course he is.

Name another politician that could survive 3 years of intense scrutiny by the government committing illegal acts of surveillance to get rid of him.

So, where's the high crime? Misdemeanor? Ambassadors serve at the President's pleasure. He can hire and fire them. He didn't want to send any aid because history says that half of it would be used corruptly like paying off Quid-Pro-Joe and his sone. When did that become a crime?

Bolton Book Reportedly Contradicts DOJ Claims About Barr’s Knowledge Of Trump-Zelensky Call
Bolton reportedly claims in his book that he raised concerns about Rudy Giuliani’s shadow foreign policy with Barr after the President’s July phone call, and that he told Barr Trump had mentioned him on the call. On Monday, the Times reporter Michael Schmidt — one of the reporters who broke the news about Bolton’s book — described Bolton as telling Barr about the call “right after” it occurred.

That directly conflicts with what the Justice Department has said about Barr’s knowledge of the call. A Barr spokesperson denied to the Times that he learned about the call from Bolton.

There is a mechanism to help remove doubt. Put him under oath.

    Mmmm no.

Some reporters claim they have a copy of some information they say Bolton wrote.

You guys fall for this all the time.

Once again people in government release info they created to the media in order to claim the info they leaked supports their position.

Remember the "Russian collusion" investigation? Hmm?

Maybe we could have a Stormy Daniels press conference and Avanetti could represent Bolton in court.

Actually Bolton is a war criminal, not a crook. As horrible as his ideas are, he has always been consistent. That is, he has been reliably what he is.

The purpose of John Bolton's testimony is to watch Congressional Republicans squirm. They all know Trump is guilty as hell, they all know he is a dunderhead. Pretending otherwise gets harder and harder the more the truth comes out.

You know this because I have repeatedly told you. Read the articles of impeachment. Trump was impeached for solicitation.

Bolton is looking for one last payday.
What better way to secure a job on CNN.

McCabe will be going to jail soon.

I have no problem with that. Even if he confirms QPQ, that doesn’t rise to a level of conviction.

Even if everything Bolton claims is true then it doesn't make what Trump did an impeachable offense.
