Bolton's manuscript has leaked.......confirming what we knew all along.

With respect to claims Trump can stop Bolton from testifying, executive privilege can be used to prevent someone from being forced to testify. It cannot prevent a willing witness from testifying. As lawyers put it, it is a shield, not a sword. If Bolton wants to testify he can. Secondly, it is almost certainly true that there is no judicial review of any decisions made by the Senate in an impeachment trial. Everything about how to run a trial is left in the hands of the Senate and the text is clear: “The Senate shall have the sole power to try all Impeachments.” The “sole power”...............................meaning the decisions are unreviewable.

Bolton's a war criminal and a sociopath, as is Adam Schiff. Just shows how pathetic the democrats are when they pin their impeachment hopes on these guys. He should be impeached for Yemen not holding up an arms sale for arms we shouldn't be selling in the first place. Obama also should have been impeached for Yemen along with Libya.

 

As we can see from the angry attacks on Bolton now that his book has contradicted Don's laughable "I did nothing wrong" meme, it is of vital importance to maintain the infallible Dear Leader narrative that Bolton have his character assassinated mercilessly. I think he's a neocon crank who should not have been put in the position he was in. But nothing he says in the book is inconsistent with what all the other witnesses have said.

1) Trump fires some loser from the White House.
2) Said loser writes a book or has someone do it for them.
3) Loser then announces release of book and starts book tour.
4) Loser then claims to have some "bombshell" revealed in the book.
5) Trump hating media spins and speculates on bombshell.
6) Loser's book is bought by rabid Trump haters.
7) Bombshell is really a dud.
8.) Trump hating media moves on to the next faux outrage.
9) Loser pockets the cash from those who bought the book.

Sadly for the Dems, the Times account does not say that Trump required an announcement. And Trump, Mulvaney and others stated outright that he didn't tell Bolton that the aid was connected to anything.
Wanting something is different than DEMANDING something.

Again, Trump was interested in seeing that Ukraine was serious about cleaning up corruption.

If Romney pushes Bolton to testify it is fine with me because it will further exonerate Trump.

 

The idea of Republicans, and especially Trump and his crew fighting corruption isn’t a credible argument. The most corrupt president we have ever had is fighting corruption in other countries. Get real.

 

One does not preclude the other and it is now becoming evident that Biden and family are corrupt.

 

What you say is a valid point. Prior to this, Bolton had no friend's on the anti-Trump side. I've personally felt he's a lunatic since he was in the Bush II's administration.

But while I think his views are extreme, I've never been given any reason to question his sincerity and honesty.

So, I may not like John Bolton, but I don't have any reason to question what he's said about Trump.

Bolton was involved in the Iran/Contra scandal. He was also involved in The School of the Americas, and the political killings in Latin America that sprung from that. The death squads and all.

 

After Trump got caught, he released the money and stopped soliciting.
