What's your problem with the UK other than the obvious?

42% of UK trade is with the EU. That will be hard to make up.
Yes the EU will take a hit, too, but it will not be as serious as what the UK will loose. Take into account all the trade deals the EU made in the last 3 years, Brexit years.
I like the UK to be successful, but I can not see this happen, without a Brexit deal.
The timing for a no deal is bad, too. World economy is slowing down.
The EU can not afford to give in to UK demands, make it easy, or let the UK pick its cherries.

A No Deal and a economic down turn in the UK, which will happen, will strengthen independence movements in Scotland and probably NI.

It will be a wild ride till Oct 31.

Before the UK joined the EU it was the poor guy of Europe, one of the worst economies in
    Europe.
It was good for Rock and Roll though.

Germany is well on its way toward cementing beneficial economic relationships with Russia and China. Even a simple review of these developments since 2014 shows this clearly, including Nord Stream 2 and the spread of China's "Belt and Road" initiative throughout Eastern Europe, and on into Germany. Those relationships with the growing Russia-China 'axis' and the EU (which means GERMANY) will only grow stronger, and, more prosperous! All in all, Germany has everything to gain, economically, but in the short term, politically, Germany is losing itself into a huge 'melting-pot' that is actually more like a gigantic, sh!t-filled TOILET than anything that will be of specific benefit FOR Germans....

Great Britain will have a rocky economic road for a few years, but first it needs to "flush its own national toilet". It is taking a position that it will govern itself and NOT be dictated to by a bunch of scheming internationalists in the European Central Bank, the IMF, and the puppet EU bureaucracies. That position is being reinforced now, and so Great Britain needs to "drop the other shoe" and get the hell ON with it!

Its not overflight, its landing rights which UK airlines will loose, they will have to be re-negotiated, because they are part of the EU membership.

Dotard is not welcome in Germany, that's why he will not visit and has not gotten a invitation.

The EU has a deal and has moved on, without the UK, and is just shaking its head when watching the mess in the UK.

The EU simply can not make a single concession towards the UK. Its fundamental, that BREXIT fails. The EU will get hurt yes, but the UK much more so.

Johnsons aid the UK can leave and keep all positive aspects of the EU without the negative aspects. Like getting all the club benefits without being a club member.

And because of that, the EU will not accept anything, it simply cant.

Add the fact that Johnson is an idiot and you see what is going to happen.

    News flash for you, Jimmy.

The UK after leaving the EU will be free to do trade with anyone they please without the EU having control let alone say in who, where and on what grounds the deal(s) will occur.

If the EU don't want a deal with the UK it will hurt the EU a lot more in the long run than it will the UK. The UK can easily recover by making trade deals with other nations/regions.

And once Brexit have happened, the UK haven't collapsed and the economy is going to be booming, other nations will take notice and will be looking into leaving too. Hell, we already have countries such as the Czech Republic, Poland and Italy all having a hostile attitude towards the EU. Won't be long until they will consider invoking Article 50 after a vote in a couple of years.

The dice have been thrown, the dominos are falling. And the death of the EU is going to be sweet to watch. Brexit was just the beginning.

If his term goes the way Trump's term has been going, a very vocal but small segment of the UK will claim that Boris is "winning" constantly with no factual basis for it and the entire country will end up even more bitterly divided than they are now over Brexit and other issues.

Putin will be interfering on Boris's behalf and will be well pleased with the results, in terms of weakening the UK, weakening the EU and tarnishing western democracy in general.

Do you imagine the UK will have a strong negotiating standpoint when they are on their own? They're not a particularly large country with particularly great industrial capacity. At the end of it all, they'll be jerked around by the much larger powers around them.

The UK is leaving the EU over nasty fictions propped up by hostile foreign agents who want to see the UK and EU fail.

The EU is a moneypit and is failing in itself...which is why they want out. The EU can't agree on anything. Why should a nation be tied to an organization anyway? They are their own sovereign nation...

    Which larger powers?

UK is #2 in GDP. And the UK rules in Gas and Oil production.

This doesn't have to be a zero sum game, Sobo.

As is the case with any bad marriage, a divorce ultimately winds up benefiting both parties. The Brits will get what they want most of all - their sovereignty - and the EU will carry on without an unhappy partner that would only stir up more discontent and division within its ranks.

Change can be a difficult, unpredictable and worrisome thing but usually it turns out to be a good thing. Hopefully it will be a Win-Win for ALL of you.

I'm not being combative....I just challenge, you have issue with that?

If there is German military in UK....very small and part of training, or whatever.

Although there are some similarities between Boris Johnson and Donald Trump, one difference is this: Mr Johnson can, from memory, quote page after page from The Iliad, in the original ancient Greek. It's a good bet that Mr Trump doesn't know what The Iliad is. There is a good brain there, although not much morality. However, if he now concentrates his good brain on doing the best for his country, and taking his place in the history books, he might surprise us all. Lots of people despised Richard Nixon, someone of similar morality, but he turned out to be a great statesman.

I agree, thats why its good the UK leaves. But not on their terms. Johnson said the UK will leave, evrything good will stay like it is, minus the responsibilities.

Im sure you agree that this wont happen.

For a second largest economy in EU, the U.K. is a significant country with large capabilities. They are also a buyer nation, not seller. For a buyer it’s easier to break off then for a seller like Germany.
