In all fairness, I was merely using my post to you as a vehicle to provide an update on the story and I apologize for not directly responding to your post.

And yes, some of your post does provide an explanation for why his actions may not be a crime and they might succeed in court (I would note that the "him running for office meant he did not have the time to fight the charge" would likely cut the opposite way).

However, we don't have access to all of the evidence that was referenced by the court filings from the past week. And I would argue that, once we do, your explanation will prove insufficient to prevent an indictment or survive a motion to dismiss. Whether he succeeds at trial is a wholly separate issue, but I would consider it a win just to see him drug to court.

News flash, having consensual sex isn't a crime and settling any claim of consensual sex that would have been settled with or without a campaign is not a crime. Telling you attorney to settle the claim isn't a crime as that is what attorneys do. Settling a claim of consensual sex to keep it from the public is what NDA's are for and not a crime.

The only crime that is possible is if you have Trump on tape or email telling someone to commit a crime. Telling his attorney to settle a claim isn't a crime.
