There are many, many IFB churches in the US and until you look and see what they believe, you should reserve judgment.

 

Fair enough. I understand my Church which never would talk the way that Pastor did, but I personally won't judge him by comments like he made. I know plenty about Muslims and am really shocked their comments don't make it much onto this forum.

 

While I don't know you very well, I think you would walk out of an IFB church.......

 

Every group has people who vocally support actions that they would not themselves act upon. There are Christians that approve of the killings, even though they would never kill another person themselves. There are muslims that approve of the killings, even though they would never kill another person themselves. It is not difficult to find the fringe crazies when trying to make a political point, but it is intellectually dishonest to use that as proof of a widespread problem with large segments of our society. I understand how those that hate people who believe in a God cant pass up the opportunity to use this horrible event as justification for their personal crusades against the people they hate, but thats all it is. For those of you that feel you can judge what kind of person I or anyone else is based solely on our beliefs, you are quite shallow and unworthy of being taken seriously.

My son in law once attended a baptist church in the Sunnyvale, CA area. But I went with him and my daughter one time for a celebration of Christmas where they had people playing bells. Very very well done too in my opinion.

As to Baptists in general, I never really chat with them.

 

These people aren't normal Baptists (my grandmother was one)....

The IFB only read the KJV from 1611, remain "separate" from their neighbors, the world etc.. and believe they are the "true Jews".. Most of their pastors only have a HS education, advocate killing gays... and it gets worse from there.

And federal government was in the process of codifying that under federal law and completed that three years after the first Barbary war which of course means it had long been banned before the second one.

No I addressed your question directly and asked you to back your attempt to mitigate the terrorist acts committed by radical Islamic terrorist with these claims that Christians commit such mass murders in the name of their religion so that I can tell you how wrong they are to do it. The fact is YOU are the one trying to say it is OK for the RIT's to commit their acts because of all these asserted Christian acts.

So start posting them

 

But wouldn't it me pragmatic to concentrate on the ones who are actually doing it rather than try to mitigate it with the every other group does it. Just refer to my list in post #148. Any other group come close to doing such acts in the name of their group?

The pastor can have his free speech. One should expect consequences if the hate is loud enough, especially if one acts upon the hate a person ignites.

I don't think that is the case for most.
They see christians and RWers saying all muslims must be kicked out of country or all muslims this, because radical islam if pretty active.
So when radical or evangelical christians spew hatred the similar to the radicals, no one is yelling kick out all christians. Nor should anyone. But there is hypocrisy involved.

 

What about all the imams who say the same thing? Where is your outrage about them or do you just have faux outrage for Christians?

 

Some folks are natural idiots. This pastor is one of them. All life is precious. One must remember those killed were someone's son or daughter, brother or sister, father or mother. There are in my opinion valid reasons for taking a life, sexual orientation isn't one of them. One of the ten commandment is "Thou shalt not kill," although I was told in the original translation it should have read "Thou shalt not commit murder." This preacher is nuts. He is no better than the Inman's who preach that killing infidels is a good thing.

Whatever happened to, "Do unto your fellow man as they would do unto you?"
