    I think that it's totally disgusting for anyone to have a physical relationship with a child. At the same time, I wasn't there, and I don't know if Muhammad had that physical relationship before the girl was "of age." And that brings up the question of what's considered the appropriate age. We apply our morality to other cultures as though it's an absolute morality across all cultures. Most states here see 16 as the age of consent, yet many states still allow marriage for girls well under that age. In other words, young girls often have consensual sex and get pregnant. How many of us have grandmothers and great-grandmothers who were married and having children as soon as they were able to reproduce? I know my grandmother was 13 when she got married and 14 when she gave birth. It was way more common then that we like to think today.

    I know it's a diversion from the free-speech topic, but I have to wonder what exactly we think of when we think of morality.

    I'm a free-speech freak, so this bothers me. Hiding thoughts and ideas does not make them go away. Yes, there is a line where free speech has it's limits, but it's a very crooked line.

    Still, that's for the Europeans to deal with. Using that as some kind of warning about what could happen to us is really little more than bait the hate.

    how old was Mary... 12 or 13, would calling God a pedophile count as free speech then?

    personally I think blasphemy laws are a violation of free speech

    Don't call him a pedophile just say the Prophet bled a little girl sticking his mighty sword into her scabbard who was his wife, there, not mentioning pedophilia at all. :aww:

    In a religion where sex is required to consummate that marriage...there is no confusion. It is you who is confused, substituting appeasement of evil, magical ideas for ethics and morality.

    Someone who Marrys a child and doesn't have sex with the child is not a peadophile.

    Someone who is sexully attracted and has sexual desires towards a child is a peadophile.

    That is the point that I am making.

    Muslim child rapist: "I had sex with that child, but only because I had to do so, for Allah. Therefore,I am not a pedophile"

    No, you, child rapist,are much,much worse than any pedophile. You claim divine moral authority for your child rape.

    Supposedly Muhammed married her at 6, He was 50, but did not have vaginal sex until she was 9.
    There are other types of sex mentioned in Islamic lore.
    I think Muhammed still qualifies as a pedophile, however, his child bride was a gift from Allah, so that qualifies Allah as a pedophile.

    Keep in mind, the child's father is a main part of Muhammeds army, so it is hard to say how much influence he had over him.

    I don't have an agenda to fulfill. I look at the thread title and what's alleged. So research Mohammad and Aisha, their ages etc.. and there's confusion to ages etc..

    Also, look at traditions and laws of the past. Many threads take someone from the past and put them on trial under current laws; they will always fail. We now trialled against future laws will too fail.

    Like yourself, some just take hearsay as gospel because it fits their agenda. Due to the news over the last few years, one agenda is Muslim Hate.

    Maybe it's not your case, but I never married a 6 YO and even less had sexual intercourse with a 9 YO so I'm very fine on casting the first stone on that.
    Anyway, I'm not christian, so not concerned by that kind of prescription.
