No. The meaning of my words is that Christie is one of the few outstanding politicians we have that actually cares about his people enough to put his political future on the line to help them in their time of need.

He could have done this without the optics and the rhetoric. He handed both to Obama. That's not very savvy for a person of Christie's political intelligence.

Romney lost because Republicans stayed home and he didn't sell the brand.

    2008 Votes:
    Obama: 69,498,516
    McCain: 59,948,323

    2010 Votes:
    Obama: 64,037,946
    Romney: 59,944,056

Obama's vote degraded by just shy of 8%. Romney degraded from McCain by 0.0001%. Although Romney failed to grab Latinos, Blacks and Asians ate numbers close to McCain's, he did manage to garner many more independents. Both candidates siphoned off of each other. It also lends credence to the problems with the polling. The polls were indeed skewed towards the Democrats turning out in 2008 numbers. They didn't. Not until the last two weeks, which is what I said would happen back in August.

Let's get over it, says Piscivorous, who voted Johnson. I still hear fellow 49er fans lament the Roger Craig fumble.

    GET OVER IT.

He put the kid's gloves on. The Romney that crushed Obama in the first debate disappeared. He took a page out of the McCain Book of Self-Defeat in Campaigns and laid off. If he had kept up the attacks and defended himself against Obama's attacks, Obama loses.

Until the GOP gets serious and put a fighter in there, they will lose. I didn't care much for Bush, but he wasn't a milquetoast, gooey GOPer.

All he did was compliment the President on what WAS a job well done. The President handled Sandy very efficiently, and Christie recognized that. He dropped partisan politics to work with the President for the people of New Jersey.

Your problem is you keep trying to judge Christie's actions through a political lens when it was not political.

He wasn't "sucking up to Obama." He complimented Obama on his calm, efficient help for the storm victims.

There was nothing wrong with Christie sharing some non-partisan time with The Kenyan Tyrant......

.....but he didnt have to give him a BJ....which is why Fat Boy has lost some major points in my book.

    He did that.

    He did not do that.

By the way, calling people you don't like "Fat Boy" - major reason your party keeps losing.

Christie is not an ally. Christie is all about Christie. No problem. He damaged Romney. And in return he will never be our nominee.

He did it...and he did it days before the election to boot.....

Clearly the majority of voters base their votes on that reasoning......chubs.

Because when logical people lose an election they don't blame everybody but themselves.

Yes, it did. It's called bipartisanship for the benefit of the people.

That said, I'm amused by the right's soul searching since this horrible election loss.

I'm even more amused they have a soul...

thats the conservative way of thinking. They apply it to economics too. If you are successful then you did that all by yourself, if you failed it was because of government, liberals, and regulation!

    Things that hurt Romney:

    • Christie
    • Parasitic Class Creation by Liberals
    • National News Media
    • 146% of the vote in some swing state districts
    • Pulling up in the last two debates
    • Massive $$$ Character Attacks on Romney
    • Racism from Blacks

It's over. He lost. We had a guy that showed promise for pulling entities out of Economic Collapse and instead chose a guy that has zero success and zero experience.

The country and the people will pay a dear price.

Hurricane Sandy didn't by itself put Obama over the top, but his five minute photo-op with Christie apparently did have an affect.
As hard as it is to believe according to exit polls many people did say it was an important moment to see Obama out with Christie during the crisis.
Incredible to think something so minor could have changed someones vote.

I wish I had a list of the names of these dolts, I have this beach front property in Nebraska that I'm ready to sell real cheap.

The only thing that hurt Romney was Romney. If you people keep blaming your mistakes on everything but the actual cause, you'll continue to lose because you don't know how to win.

seems all we hear nowadays from republicans is how they are gonna punish America for their loss, that will teach them not to "not" vote republican next time :(

You forgot lying to the american people, flip flopping on every issue, and calling half of the american people useless wastes. Funny enough, Romney got 47% of the vote.

It is true, in my opinion, that Romneycare hurt Romney.

Still, The win was a narrow win. If we had a leader as the Speaker of the House I would not be afraid for my country. But we have Speaker Boehner so I do fear. Can we slow down or stop Obama and his agenda for two years so we can get more conservatives into the House and Senate? I do not know. But it is what I will be fighting for.
