Can Only Hatred Explain Why Democrats Would Pursue a Doomed Impeachment?

Why is it, then, that the Democrats have been so hell-bent on impeaching Trump, even before his inauguration? Why did they jump at the opportunity of exploiting the Ukraine call based on partial, second-hand evidence (at best)?

On December 4, 2019, an op-ed in the Los Angeles Times announced: “Letters to the Editor: Democrats wanted Trump impeached from the start because he deserved it.”

In contrast, on December 18, 2019, Fox News published an op-ed by Matt Wolking titled, “Impeachment is based on Democrats’ hatred of Trump and anger at his election.”

Is it that simple? Has the Democrats’ intense hatred of the president impaired their judgment?

In my opinion hate is a powerful motivator. The progressive left has given in the the power of that emotion and wants to try to take out our great American President since the night he upset Hillary and won the 2016 election. Every Trump success in trade or the economy, every judicial confirmation, every mile of border wall, every mention of energy independence simply fuels their rage.

The urban bi coastal political left in their ivory towers and their limousine liberal friends still harbor bitterness and resentment that us Heartland America deplorables took our country back and restored middle class and working class jobs and wages.

I think you got it turned around. This impeachment is a result of the desperation of having lost cultural authority before (and because of) achieving a global authoritarian collectivist 'utopia'. The hatred is of people that refuse to kneel to the god-state, and now it appears as if they won't achieve the power necessary to force them to. Individualism is making a comeback, and nothing scares control freaks more than that. Hatred, as we know, stems from fear.

A disconnect of how they are perceived is a big part of it. The Twitter crowd approves of their actions but this crowd is not as big as they think.

Yes but it's what Trump represents that they hate. Trump is trying to restore America and they hate that.

Obama, Warren, Sanders et al have all said they want to "fundamentally change" the US. If you love something you don't need, nor want, to fundamentally change it.

Hate stems from fear but I, also, are more afraid of their disconnected dreams of the Marxist utopia they seem to push without even realizing what they are doing.

The LAST time I saw something like that it was the Tea Party screeching about Obamacare!

    Then Obamacare became a REALITY!

    What happened next?

Those same members of the Tea Party LIKED their Obamacare and OBJECTED when the GOP wanted to scrap it and go back to the FAILED for profit system that sucked!

Guess what will happen when AFFORDABLE TERTIARY EDUCATION becomes a REALITY for rightwingers? Suddenly they will discover that they no longer need to bury themselves under massive piles of debt just to send their kids off to college any longer.. Obviously they LIKE that too!

So yes, the rightwingers are AFRAID of what the Dems are proposing because they will LIKE it and no longer have a reason to HATE or FEAR any longer!

How are they going to cope without their fear and hatred anymore?

See ^^^^ that's exactly what I mean. There's things in life I dislike too but I don't get up in your face flapping my arms, yelling and getting apoplectic. I prefer to avoid that sort of behavior and just ride the wave.

Perhaps you could try that too and, you never know, you might benefit from it.

    Revisionist history much?!!!

The Tea Party Members of Congress and the Senate were/are Republicans. They have supported the rolling back of Obamacare that has taken place so far. But the real rolling back has been by the courts, and most of those came before Obama even left office. Obamacare was passed with provisions that were blatantly illegal. Primarily the bailout of Insurance Companies that covered preexisting conditions. That bailout was no appropriated as required by law. After the court ruled that the bailouts were illegal, the Obama Administration's tried to pay them out anyway. A federal judge had to threaten to hold them in contempt of court to get them to stop.

Without the promised bailout those for "profit system" insurance companies pulled out of the exchanges leaving many states with one or two insurance companies in their exchanges. Some were left with no companies. Yet, the Obama Administration still wanted to fine those that did not have an Obamacare compatible policy. You get that, fine someone for not having something that is not available to them. So, the courts have stepped in again. The court issued an injunction preventing the IRS from collecting the fines. The actual case will be heard by SCOTUS this year. Face it, Obamacare is gone.

But don't be discouraged. Harry Reid let the cat out of the bag that Obamacare was never designed to succeed. It was supposed to fail rather spectacularly. In the crisis that it would create, the Liberals would bring us a "Medicare for all" which is really a "medicare for no one." That's right. It is nothing but the single payer system that the liberals wanted all alone. Unfortunately for Democrats, Obamacare did not go out with a bang. Just a liberal whimper.

In 2008, the DNC had some big plans. Single payer healthcare, open borders, gut the US Coal, Natural Gas and Petroleum industries, and banning guns for all civilians. But they could not bring this about in just 8 years. The plan was for Obama to set the groundwork, and then after his 8 years Hillary would take over. At the end of the nearly two decades of they could change the name to the United Socialist States of America (USSA).

Then President Trump gummed up the works by getting elected. Then he had the audacity to start undoing everything that they were trying to do. Every year he is in office, he is rolling back about two years of DNC efforts. As the wall has shown them, he really can't be stopped. So, what's left? Try to remove him from office. Or at least, try to make him look bad. But the DNC is only making themselves look stupid.

Your original premise was that rightwingers hate something until the leftwingers push it through, and then they love it. That is total malarkey that you based on the concept that Tea Partiers were against Obamacare until it was passed, and then they loved it. You went on to say that they even objected when the GOP tried to scrap it. Since this was the basis of your premise, by disproving that Tea Party members never embraced Obamacare, or objected to its demise, I disproved your entire post.

Now, do you want to post another false narrative (aka liberal lie) talking point?

Hatred played a major part, but it is more than hatred. I personally know several democrats that hated Trump from the start since he defeated Hilary.

They are also looking for a political advantage from the impeachment. And it is an abuse of power to use the congress for political gain.

According to trumpers like you, trump wants to change America. If not then how can you allegedly restore America?

Simple explanation. This is all about theater for the compliant media. They want power. They want the Senate and Presidency so they can stop Trump from putting in more constitutional originalists. The only way they can get what they want is with progressive activist judges.

Question did KFF call you in your poll? They did not call me. Your trot out every liberal website you can find to make a point that still does not hold water. Those articles were liberal slants on the fact that the statement from the GOP that they were no longer going to waste time trying to repeal the ACA. That does not mean that they had changed their minds about the program. Why waste efforts to do in the legislature what the courts were already doing.

Face it, the ACA (aka Obamacare) is dead. It has failed. Why else do you think that the DNC is trying to push Medicare for no one.

Wake up and smell the stench. You are supporting a very corrupt president and a very corrupt political party backing him.

It isn’t so much that sane people hate Trump as they are disgusted by him. Disgusted by his constant lying, disgusted by his overwhelming ignorance. Disgusted by the corruption. Disgusted by him siding up with dictators. Disgusted by him using Russia and the Ukraine to help him in his election and re-election efforts. Disgusted by the people who fawn over such a pile of human garbage.

With the whole Trump saga, the alternate reality, and the fluidity of truth, how can we ever again trust the honesty, integrity, or even the sanity of the right?

On a daily basis Republicans tell me things that aren’t true and then question my intelligence for not seeing things their way. Trump is just another reason, another chapter in the book on why Republicanism and the creatures it spawns, are never the bright bulbs on the tree.

The alternate reality, and predictability of it all, is quite astonishing. It is a bit like finding oneself in the midst of a Jesus fest. Causing one to wonder what must go on inside of some people’s heads.

Lies are obvious lies. Why do y’all support an ideology that requires a whole lot of dishonesty. A great deal of Trump’s lawyers’ rants were less than honest. Easy proven dishonesty. Boy do they ever have the Republican base hoodwinked.

Because of the word " Obnoxious " and then " Caught ".
Because Trump did act " Obnoxious " as a candidate and still does
    as Potus.Again ... I'm not a fan of Donald Trump's personality.WAY,way
    too much boasting.Then all that " You're Fired " - The Apprentice " crapola.
Which NBC thought was so dagburn cute while paying dividends for NBC.
So Trump was " Obnoxious " as candidate and just gave a Presser at Davos
calling out those like Jerry Nadler as a " sleazeball " and everybody knows it.
Which is fairly accurate. Also calling out House Intelligence Mngr. Adam Schiff
    as a " bad person " a " Liar " and " corrupt ".All True and verifiable.
But never has a POTUS let alone a Pol talked that way in American History.
Chalk it up to the Times. They are a changin'.And perilous times do call for
a Tough as nails POTUS as if a Sheriff in the Wild Wild West.California is
destined to be the next Wild Wild West. Not if President Trump has any say about.
Which is why he is so loved by so many tens of millions. Also why he is hated.
Because he is cleaning up Dodge { Washington D.C. } and doing it his way.
    Like he pledged as candidate.
And more importantly he managed to " Catch " or " Caught " what Obama's
Deep State Pulled. The unbelievable, underhanded, unamerican attempt to
Mount a Coup on his Presidency { starting as candidate } to Oust him
from office. That is partly what this Impeachment is about. To make everything
about Trump. His guilt. When it was the DNC with Hillary { as candidate } along
with the Power of Obama's Deep State who actively and with pure malice
    conspired,plotted and Framed Donald Trump.
That is what the Democrats Party is feverishly afraid of and will spare
no expense in attempts to avoid. When that Scandal breaks.
Their next move is to attempt to remove this President from the
    2020 Ballot.Nothing ... Nothing this dispicable,and corrupt Democrat Party
says, does and implies is American. It is Stalinistic. The MSM is IN on these dispicable
    acts of desperation.

I can't help but wonder what someone would think if they didn't have a horse in this race. An outsider. Watching one side presenting their case and the other side sniping. Would they wonder why one side is so against the presentation of witnesses and the documents described?

Hatred? Maybe. Though many might argue “hope” instead.

Trump is basically Al Capone. Everyone knows he is dirty. Everyone knows he is hiding things. We all (even his supporters) knew he was bent way before he ran for office. But he was always rich enough to protect himself from conviction. Just like Capone.

So the Democrats have been looking for ways to expose Trump. Just as prosecutors were unable to convict Capone on his known corruption and finally had to settle on tax evasion, Democrats tried to get Trump on real, but marginally impeachable offenses in hopes that more would be exposed in the process.

The proof of this is that no one on either side is arguing that Trump is innocent - they are just arguing on whether it’s impeachable.
