What, reported my mild flu to you? What has South Korea got to do with your claim that all mild flu cases are reported?

Oh it certainly is proof that not all mild cases of flu are reported. You do understand that if one case is not reported then it follows that not all cases have been reported, don't you?

The nursing home in Washington had 120 residents. 16 are dead from Covid 19 in a matter of a few weeks. There is your mortality rate for the most vulnerable.

It is more contagious than the flu, it is worse than the typical flu, it can take 6 weeks to recover if you develop serious symptoms, and it is pneumonia, not the flu.

If liberals are the ones panicking, then why are the only politicians in quarantine, Republicans?

What is the mortality rate for the most vulnerable for the flu ?? Of course it's very high. Two years ago ~ 80,000 people died from the flu in the US.

It is nothing like this. Nursing homes don't normally lose 16 people [13%] in a few weeks, to one illness. You have all twisted the numbers to the point that you have lost all perspective.

Ironically, trumpers are the most vulnerable because they tend to be old and uniformed. Darwin may decide this election.

Sanders and Biden have cancelled rallies. Trump refuses to do so.

Cause he is not a over reactionary child. If adult want to go to a rally they can, if they do not then they do not have to go. Your nanny state mentality is showing, letting other decide how you live....

And honestly it was not Trump supporters on this very forum wanting the POTUS to tell them what to do to protect themselves. They are on the internet posting they want Trump to tell them rather to wear a mask or not, the internet.....where they can do all the research they need to decide that themselves……………..and Trump supporters are uninformed?

So you are claiming that the flu has not claimed multiple victims in nursing homes ???

I suppose you are rooting for all of us who support President Trump to catch the Corona ???

Trump is smarter than they are. And so are his supporters. BTW how many attendees of CPAC have tested positive for Corona ??

COVID-19 is a viral respiratory infection that has the potential to kill the elderly, the sick, and the weak. The healthy have nothing to fear. It is not the Zombie Apocalypse. It is not a justification for stopping the living from living. It is not a moral justification for hysterically canceling life.

Be real, because right now way too many are being ignorant asses, especially our political leaders, including Trump.

I don't believe you on this but if this is true put yourself in self isolation today and do not come out till this is sorted or I put your chances of surviving as pretty near nil.

Trump is now reconsidering rallies on a day to day basis.

People can put their money in masks if they want, but also should have seen what was coming and bought them six weeks ago when they were still plentiful. Masks do offer some minimal bit of protection and make people feel as if they can do something about the situation. But anything that can pass enough air for a respiration rate that keeps people standing up will also pass viruses by the millions.

I wouldn't tell anybody to buy or not buy masks, but to learn what is known about masks and do what you think is best for you. And then I would also mention that there ain't no panaceas to be had with this coronavirus thing. But it ain't bad, it's mild. Wash hands often, but that's too simple, not complex enough, and unsatisfying when a panacea is what people really want, but cannot have.

There's just some shet people have to do for themselves based on their own thinking, and they must realize that there ain't no guarantees on this third rock.

If people do want to buy masks and can afford them they should be aware that medical masks will not stop them getting the virus. It will however make it more difficult for them tp spread it on to others. N95 masks are believed to offer some protection from catching it.

Edit: Wearing of face masks has been given by some people as the reason for the stopping of the spread in Hong Kong. Some people believe we should all be given them despite the propaganda that they are of no use.

Europe and the US have also allowed flights to continue hence spreading the virus. We seem to be the countries which have left ourselves open for the worst effect of this virus.

Are you serious? Stop living because I might die?

There are plenty of things in life that can kill you, including worrying about that which might kill you. I am too busy singing sings, writing music, playing guitar, vacationing in the Caribbean making money, laughing with the grandkids, going to the movies, watching Homeland, romancing the wife, living life to worry about dying from a primeval piece of putrid pre-animated matter. I’m a fan of John Galt, not Mr. Wimple. Reality will be the final judge. Bet I’m here next year with the virus defeated.

About my medical condition? Nope I have RA, Crohn's, bladder cancer (Chemo every 4 months), colitis, and take 2 immune system suppression drugs—a biological called Humira, and a steroid called Prednisone. Dying isn’t an excuse to stop living.

In addition, my Prednisone gave me osteoporosis and destroyed my back, which is now held together by a titanium plate, 6 screws, a ballon, and a disk. But just as dying isn’t an excuse to stop living, life being tough isn’t an excuse to give up.

    And yes, I’m 68.

You know, if you are on top of a volcano that starts erupting, it’s to late to whine and btch—find a flat rock, surf it down the lava, and when the end hits, jump in the air, high-five the stars and moon, kiss the sun, and tell the universe, “Thanks. It’s been a helluva ride.”

    This video

which none other than starjet has already put in, possibly explains why there is such a massive difference in the death and seriously/critical between Italy and South Korea. South Korea has been testing around ten thousand people a day since it first was infected. It has picked up people who in western countries would never have been picked up and it has started supplying those who test positive with a medication which allows Vit D to do its job. This is very early research, it is not even known if it was a blind trial and it needs to be checked whether Italy has been giving people this after they come into care. China also was supplying this medication but possibly South Korea with its very early testing and prescribing medication policy is the only country who has got in at the very beginning often before the patients have any signs at all and supplying it whether they are symtomatic or not.

Assuming this is correct it would mean that China's death rate of 6% could be low (they were giving the supplement though at a reduced dose to South Korea.) It would suggest that the way to minimise the death rate enormously would be an immediate mass screening as soon as infection spreads in the community followed by immediate prescribing of this drug as given in South Korea..

You know what’s more frightening than COVID-19? Watching the world frighten itself to death over a disease with a 97%-99% survival rate.
