Which wouldn't make it racist even if that were true.
But ofcourse, despite being proven wrong. You have a deflection.

    Not surprising.

Like I said, when it comes to racial issues democrats are lost in propaganda. Propaganda thats so effective, even after being proven wrong they still latch on to the narrative.

I actually agree, I don’t think voter ID laws are racist, they’re just intended to make voting more difficult because republicans know they need low turnout to win.

They are intended to protect security of elections.

Thats a low bar to set, to require an ID to vote lol.

    Really low.

But good to see you dont actually agree with the democrat party that Voter ID is racist. its a nonsense position to take, one taken likely not honestly and instead to allow illegals to vote as much as possible.

Mike Waalace let the cat out of the bag by saying he isn't white he is Jewish. This is a distinction most people cant make. To the average person Zuckerberg, Spielberg, Bezos, Bernie, etc are white. They don't see it that way.

I’d believe you if every Republican change to voting laws didn’t make it harder. Shorter hours, fewer days, no voting by mail even with ID, harder for college kids, no ex felons....on and on.

It doesn't not make it a systemic issue either. And given the history of racism in this country, it's more than premature at this point to declare that it's only an issue for the victims and not the rest of society.

Racism hasn't gotten worse. Racism has gotten desperate. White racists feel threatened, and even those who are racist outliers(not overtly racist but could be nudged that way with the right conditions) are starting to feel it. That doesn't mean wokeness has failed. It means that the status quo is changing. Now don't get me wrong, wokeness is not our future. It can't be, because it's too immature and self-righteous. But it is a sign of changing winds.

But I disagree that the transition process will occur naturally. That has never happened in this country, ever. Slavery only ended because people pushed hard for it to end. Segregation only ended because people pushed hard for it to end. I will grant you that with the lack of legally racist systems like slavery and segregation to rally against, the anti-racist movement only has abstract enemies to fight, which is part of the reason they've latched onto the police as a target.

But the idea that things will just get better without a push for it is naive. History does not support that idea when it comes to minorities. But you're right, we will have more pendulum swings. They are inevitable.

You would have to ask Woodson for specific clarification on those comments. I'm just adding a quote back in that was left out of the OP. It seems the topic is being promoted in a one-sided way.

I had someone tell me 30 years ago that he'd prefer to deal with a "Southern redneck rather than a Northern Liberal" because the liberals were just as racist, but convinced that they weren't and insisted they were color-blind. It's pretty much the same as Woodson said. Times have changed over those 30 years, but we still don't seem to understand how our beliefs and prejudices are seen as racial.

I've said many times before that the focus on calling everything racist is making the problem worse. There is no way we will ever not see color and differences, so the focus really ought to be on how we create and use stereotypes of those who are different from us.

I still don't see racism anywhere I go, even when I lived down south. I think you have to really look to see it. I think if it's desperate, it is because there is hardly any of it left. Nobody cares about skin color anymore. Nobody cares if you are gay, none of it. Okay, maybe there are some, but they are so few that their opinion doesn't matter. The internet/mass communication makes it seem waaaayyyy bigger than it is. Being racist in todays world is a good way to get shunned by the rest of society.

What is your basis for thinking there are so few of those who would judge on skin color or sexuality? I've lived in rural PA for most of my life and I can tell you there are quite a few folks around here who do. But the thing is, most of them aren't the type that are going to yell N****** out the window of a car or something outrageous like that. For the most part they are passive bigots. They aren't going to clan rallies or doing white supremacy stuff. They aren't beating gay folks. Given the right conditions though, a fair amount of these folks could end up doing some of those things because they're already halfway there in their prejudices. They would just need the right pushing. You could just as easily find folks like that among minorities too I'd wager, this is by no means a white-only type of thing.

I do agree to some extent with this. Part of the desperation I mentioned in my earlier comment is what's leading to the more vocalized racism out there. But I think the possibility of being shunned only spooks those who are closet racists or people for whom that revelation might put their livelihood in jeopardy.

And remember, being racist may be a good way to get shunned, but only if you get identified. The internet grants massive anonymity, which only draws out those with nothing but racist garbage to spew.

That quote is objective truth AND in the context of what was said before and after regarding GANGS it’s even more truthful. Statistics don’t lie. Mexicans DO RAPE people, especially the gangs. And many if not all have problems. They would t be sneaking in if they didn’t. They do indeed bring crime and drugs, especially the gangs. These are statistical truths that can’t be debated or ignored. And in the context of gangs, impossible to ignore.

Run along now. Maybe you can bitch about Trump being a Russian spy or peeing on people. You’ll believe anything.

I cannot speak for black folks but I do recall reading somewhere that on several issues white democrats are more likely to scream that some of the policies polled are racist than are black people.

Of course that’s all BS, but that’s the sort of racist claims required to support Trump.

Bob Woodward with the mic drop. This movement or counter movement(or whatever) is hurting the US and at this point it's got to be deliberate.

I don't think it's more difficult, we're coming off an election where there was record turnout. I think it's pretty funny that in such an election, we're seriously talking about voter suppression.

"We got 81 million votes, but the vote's suppressed". Yeah, no one should buy the horse manure.

Didn't you know? Trump got 12% of the black vote this last election. Guess there's more to what he's saying than you want to admit to.

Or maybe he’s against adding a hurdle to voting, they had an id, that’s how you register.

Lmao yea and republicans lost their minds about making it easier and it only happens because of the pandemic. They’re already changing laws in GA to make it harder next time. It’s their MO.
