If your ideological dogma demands that you characterize all the current studies, preparations, mitigating steps, and preventative measures of federal, state, and local agencies in this way, that is what you must do.

Lets say that all the nations of the earth do what you want. It's my understanding that the earth will continue to warm, the oceans to rise and so forth, because this is what the earth does every few hundred thousand years. We are now in one of those periods which began fifteen thousand years ago.

 

If you are of such an overwhelming majority, why do you do nothing unless you can compel a few remaining climate denying holdouts to do it too? Are you really prepared to allow this to happen unless you can compel every last person to join you?

Understood. What is also true is that Ocean Pollution - is an even bigger environmental threat - 2 and 3 on the list are population growth and industrialization. Then comes CO2 - note the interconnections as well.

We don't talk much about the first 3. Lizzy got a question about banning export of fossil fuels - she dodged mostly but then mentioned a "Blue Green Deal" - no details but unfortunately - the answer to this girls question is that we should be exporting as much as we can - and building pipelines - as this is better for the overall environmental equation - including CO2.

 

That won't be for another ten thousand to one hundred thousand years or so. Till then, it will continue to warm, the ice to melt, and the oceans to rise. This will happen whether or not humans exist. It has to do with the tilt of the earth and how much heat we get from the sun. Not that what we are doing can't make it happen faster. I don't know. But sadly, even if we employ all the scientific advice and recommendations, completely reversing the effects of industry on the environment, it looks like it will continue at its natural pace nonetheless. These are the times into which we are born.

Considering that James Hansen, formerly of NASA, was caught cooking the data under the cover of Y2K, you should try a more credible source. Using the group corrupted by Hansen is tantamount to relying on the post-John Brennan CIA for intelligence.

You can do a very simple calculation that will establish the lack of credibility in any assertion regarding the source of GHGs.
Research the mass of carbon in the oceans.
Calculate the mass of CO2 if all that carbon was in that form.

Research the total mass of the atmosphere.

Calculate the ppm CO2 increase if all the carbon in the oceans was released into the atmosphere. It's a huge number.

Since the solubility of CO2 decreases with increasing temperature, the evidence that CO2 concentrations FOLLOW rises in ocean temperature throws any absolute assertions out the window.
