Nope, because the difference is governments use of those dollars for the collective benefit, rather than the shared expenses.

Once the perception of wealth is determined to be collectively owned, and thus taxation becomes the means of redistributing the revenue of that production, might as well just take over the actual production.

Nothing in socialism says that the production is government owned, only that it is controlled. It is possible to control production through punitive taxation, is it not?

Sure, they can tax. Somebody has to pay the bills.

You may consider reading the 10th Amendment

I like how you try to mix up the two concepts as is one has anything to do with the other.

60% of the country has contempt for trump. It has nothing to do with socialism. It is about trump being unqualified, undignified, mean, and ignorant. And it we will soon know just how far he was willing to go to betray the country. I wouldn't at all be surprised to find that he committed treason.

I'm not a Democrat and I don't like Warren. But there is a wealth gap. That is a real problem. Taxes on the uber-rich are critically needed.

If you want to kill capitalism, keep allowing fewer and fewer people to gain a larger and larger share of the total wealth of the country. That is not sustainable. That is a 100% surefire plan to make this a socialist country.

No, that would be excessive taxation.

There may be a few on the fringes who seek extreme solutions. But that is not true of the mainstream party or the core of the voters. Even Cortez was only suggesting a very high rate of taxation on income exceeding $10 million. They took what she said completely out of context.

I have news for you: The maximum marginal tax rate was as high as 94% after WWII. The idea of taxing extreme levels of income is hardly new. And this is in part how we paid off the debt from WWII. When righties point to Kennedy and argue that even he CUT taxes; he didn't increase them. They ignore that he dropped the top rate from 91% to 70%. Again, this was how much the richest among us paid on the highest levels of their income - the income exceeding $100,000 or $180,000, at the time of Kennedy.

MAGA - America became the greatest nation in the world while taxing the crap out of the uber rich. ;)

In my opinion, that type of punitive tax rate is worthy of revolution.

Yet, after paying for the most expensive war in history, our government managed to massively increase the debt. Why? Because they are incapable of solving any financial issue that isn't revenue based. Our politicians, many who have spent nearly their entire adult life in the public sector only view the populace as tax slaves.

We are seeing a dramatic shift in the perspectives of taxation. When the taxes were as high as you referenced, we were paying a collective debt. This is a much different circumstance than the current desire to raise tax rates. This is driven be a social justice perspective desiring to level the playing field and minimize economic disparity.

THIS is why it isn't well recieved by conservatives.

Also, one point you are missing with the 94% tax rate is what the effective tax rate ended up being after deductions, which were a plenty.

Non-sense. Our country started the trend towards social engineering through the strong arm of government taxation and debt based economics under FDRs New Deal. FDR used on if the worst economic conditions to fundamentally change how people view government spending and effectively their control over citizens by making them dependent. They suddenly got a taste of government who charged themselves with the responsibility of taking care of the citizens, rather than facilitating their individual liberty.

The percentage of tax you speak of was the start of the spiral prior to free fall.

Our best time was when government was far and few between, and government didn't tax every possible money grab possible. Somehow our government still provided services that facilitated individual liberty with it giving income, property, gas, telecommunications, sales... or any of the other hundreds and hundreds of taxes and fees we have now.

My question is, why are people so incapable of taking care of themselves now-a- day's?

And you show you don't know what socialism is. Is socialism an economic system in which business is owned either privately or by a small group of people who run it for profit made by hiring workers? Yes or no.

Well, if socialism is the system and they leave, either their assets will be confiscated or the government will create a new currency and their dollars will become worthless.

Who said that it will be made here? Usually those who renounce citizenship do do with their key assets already out of country.

The people elected Trump because the alternative was so much more evil and far worse a choice. The tax cuts Trump got were great for the middle and working class and our jobs and benefit increases.

They will. When they renounce their citizenship they are no longer under our protection and we can confiscate their property. I'm pretty sure that is a commonly done thing in many other Western democracies than the US and has been done even by us several times.

THE PEOPLE DID NOT ELECT TRUMP, THE PEOPLE ELECTED HILLARY, TRUMP WAS APPOINTED BY THE ELECTORAL COLLEGE. THIS WAS TOTALLY CONSTITUTIONAL AND LEGITIMATE AND I AM NOT DISPUTING THAT HE IS NOW OUR RIGHTFUL PRESIDENT BUT HE WAS NOT THE PEOPLE'S CHOICE AND THAT IS AN IMPORTANT FACT THAT MUST NOT BE FORGOTTEN.

I'm sorry to shout but that needs to be said and loudly enough that even conservatives can hear it past the bullshit they have stuffed into their ears on this subject.

They make it here using our infrastructure, if they make it elsewhere it is still taxed and usually more because other nations do not make tax avoidance as easy as we do.

Recent polling BY leftist sources indicate that around seventy percent of Dem Party voters now see absolutely noting wrong with socialism. Leftists should stop pretending that they don't embrace socialism and simply admit what they really were all along. What's the point of pretending any more?

I heard Harris say in an interview she wants single payer healthcare and wants to get rid of private health insurance.

Every time leftists managed to gain total control of a nation and then gut it they turn around and claim that it wasn't REAL socialism. The nation, however, remains gutted.

You don't. The government taxes now and always has for the public benefit. You can twist your definition all you want, put socialism means the governmental ownership and administration of the means of production and distribution of goods.

Trump was not the people's choice.

17 MILLION MORE VOTED AGAINST HIM than for him.

Can you give us some examples, and please don't use Venezuela. Venezuela is a good example of how a well-functioning government can be undermined by another nation, (the USA)

First, America spends 3.5 trill on healthcare, If she could deliver healthcare for 3 trill and cover everyone with basic healthcare it would be beyond my wildest hopes that she does so and save 1/2 trill in the process. Most dems believe that if the overhead and profit was removed from healthcare that money could be used to insure the rest of the population who work but can't afford insurance due to their employer not offering to pay most of it. If anyone says that they can save 1/2 trill and still expand coverage they are a liar.

As far as holding Trump in contempt, he is not a person I would want to share a beer with. Even though I share his views his views on immigration and tarifs.

The fun part of watching the announced candidates for president is them each trying to out leftie each other in a desperate cry for attention. Circular firing squads don't work, ask the Republicans on the stage in 2016.
