It is too bad we are going to eventually come to the tail end of this with very little good data on infected non symptomatic vs. symptomatic. I believe if we had extensive blood and tissue analysis to compare and contrast between the groups we would perhaps have our answer to mitigation of symptoms or avoidance of them altogether. Maybe that is one area we can improve on if there is a next time.

It will be great to hear how antibody tests turn out for the forum members who suspect they have had C19. Even if the information provided by such tests reported here isn’t in the true spirit of this thread, I think it will have value to those like you with inquiring minds. I’m looking forward to hearing about people’s personal experience with the virus.

All good points on exercise. I wonder with quarantine and lock down if people are exercising more or less?

Yes, a study of the cyclists would perfectly address this exercise issue in relation to C19.

One factor seldom discussed is the role of the individual immune system in these infection rates and outcomes. And of course population density, which some analysts have included in their calculations.

As to serological tests for antibodies, a friend of mine who works for a car dealership says that her company has ordered blood tests on all employees. That should happen soon she says.

Great. The rats, mice, and prairie dogs of the world will infect themselves with C19 and render themselves untouchable by common anticoagulant pesticides. :)

This virus is full of surprises.

Thanks DT! There is a significant amount of discussion in and around the use of ACE inhibitors.

A LOT of this is speculation and expect more discussion over the next couple of months

There are commonly used blood pressure drugs such as Lisinipril that are ACE inhibitors.

I gave my doctor the link. He says there are ongoing investigations and that it's too early to switch prescriptions.

However, perhaps we should all be watching our presciriptions for signs of new issues such as this.

Tell me about it, confusion reigns and we are all getting wet! ;)

The original warning about ibuprofen (mentioned in your NCBI link) made me do a little more research because I take anti inflammatory meds for my hip. The ibuprofen confusion eventually resulted in me contacting my doctor about stopping them and her reply was to continue because the data was not definitive and the meds are dealing with a chronic condition that would cause considerable pain were I to stop them. (Ibuprofen increased my BP which is why I am on another medication instead.)

Just separating the Covid symptoms from the cause is proving to be a monumental task because there are just so many symptom rabbit holes to go down.

A new study to add to the list:

The headline from an article discussing the research: Coronavirus: Warning as major study claims most elderly victims 'would not have died otherwise'

    The New York Times
Travel From New York City Seeded Wave of U.S. Outbreaks
    12 hours ago

Almost all the COVID19 we're experiencing appears to have come from New York as determined by tracking the various strains of the virus.

Only on the west coast do we find strains that appear to have come directly from China. About 40% of the strains in WA come from New York (not directly from China), for example. Outside the west coast, it appears to be New York that is the entrypoint and source of subsequent spread by US travel.

Those strains in NY have been identified as mostly coming from Europe.

Even earlier than that. "The review and analyses were performed on March 28, 2020".

In a survey of doctors around the world carried out during the last few days, hydroxycholorquine was one of the worst performers. Pity I can't find the link that was provided by a Trump supporter who didn't read the details. That thread appears to have been deleted
